Hear What Teachers Had to Say...

...about our 26th Annual

Environmental Educators Roundtable

"One of the best!", was a sentiment expressed by many teachers who attended the 26th Annual Barnegat Bay Environmental Educators Roundtable on April 19.

"From the exhibitors to the Keynote, it was an amazingly choreographed event where everyone left with a larger network of support, and food for thought."

"I really loved this event. I learned a lot and was also reminded why I do what I do."

"I look forward to more events like this with this awesome community in the future. Huge thank you!"

"I feel I was given lots of ways to improve my environmental classroom, and being able to talk with other teachers made it feel more manageable."

Coastal Zone Soil Survey Research!

OCSCD is happy to host this new webpage with all things related to Coastal Zone Soil Survey—part of the USDA-NRCS Soil & Plant Science Division! Based out of Hammonton, NJ—the 3-HAM MLRA soil scientists are busy surveying and mapping the soils of our coastal environments, including our tidal marshes and subaqueous soils, or those beneath the water. OCSCD staff join the USDA-NRCS soil scientists periodically to lend a hand with sampling and analysis. CLICK HERE to check out the new page!

Congratulations to our hometown team, MATES - Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science, for winning First Place at the New Jersey Envirothon on May 20. Although it was a wet and soggy Saturday for all the teams who competed this year, everyone agreed that it was great to be back "in person" after competing virtually for the past few years. Visit OCSCD's Blog to read more about this year's New Jersey Envirothon. Visit OCSCD's NJ Envirothon webpage to learn more about the NJ Envirothon, the National Envirothon, and how NJ teachers can enter a team for next year's competition.

June is Not Too Late for Planting Natives in Your Garden
