I'm sorry that we had to postpone our tie-dye party last week. But the good news is that I'm back in town, all is well, and we're ON for tie-dye tomorrow, Tuesday 7/19 at 11:00 a.m. I hope you'll join us: Tie-dye is fun whether your 2 or 92!
Last month our Extension Iron County horticulture specialist Darrin Kimbler shared a great program called "Home Compost: What it does and does not do in your garden." He recorded the presentation, and that recording is now available for you to watch any time. Check out our Program and Class Handouts page for the link, along with handouts and recordings from many other library programs.
I hope you're enjoying your summer. Remember that the library is always here for you, whether you need books, copies, a notary, board games, movies, or just a place to relax in the air conditioning for a while. See you soon!

Free Community Concert Sunday 7/24
Join us for a FREE concert at the Mercer Community Center, Sunday, July 24, 12:30-2:30. Bring a chair (it's outside!) and get ready for music that stirs the soul and gets the toes tapping. Plus, there's a complimentary lunch!
You've never heard music quite like Spoonsfor (by Vincent Schueren)--a unique blend of gorgeous vocals and fantastical folk instruments, combined with the shimmering tones of the autoharp. The event is sponsored by the Mercer Library, Fe University, and the Mercer United Methodist Church.

Eleanor Roosevelt: First Lady of the World
Michna last visited the Mercer Library in 2021, when she portrayed Helen Keller. The Friends of the Library are pleased to welcome her back to represent another iconic figure in American history.
Eleanor Roosevelt will share with the audience her tragedies and triumphs. Born into the opulent wealth of America’s “Golden Age,” she would grow from the shy, homely orphan into a confident, driven woman. Annealed by personal tragedy, she would emerge as a champion of civil rights, author, and stateswoman. Eleanor has been characterised by many as our most respected First Lady. She is best summed up by President Harry S. Truman, who dubbed her “The First Lady of the World.” Learn more
