Thank you for supporting our Puesta del Sol Field Day by volunteering, and with your wish list donations! We have such an amazing and generous school family!
As our countdown to Field Day gets closer, we have a few needs for equipment loans (like coolers for popsicles) and welcome wish list contributions.
We are in need of some equipment to borrow for Field Day. Items include:
- Extra Large Wheeled Coolers for Popsicles
- Putting Greens and Child-sized Putters for Thor's Putt Putt station
- Ladder Toss Game Sets for Wonder Woman’s Lasso of Justice station
- Inflatable Child-Sized Swimming Pool for Aquaman's Water Balloon Toss station
We received all of the class backpacks and popsicles we needed! The remaining donation options include station materials and prizes.
Thank you!
Field Day Details
When: Friday, June 17th – 1:30-3:00pm
Set up begins at 10:00am and clean up finishes at 4:00pm
Where: Puesta del Sol Fields
Reminder: School Rules still apply on Field Day!
Even though Field Day is a fun activity for the students, it takes place at school during school hours so all school rules still apply!
These include:
- Only BSD registered Field Day Volunteers may attend.
-
All volunteers MUST be registered with the Bellevue School District and that registration must be renewed every 3 years. If you have not volunteered at school already this year, CLICK HERE to start the process. Or visit - https://bsd405.org/get-involved/volunteer/.
- You must have a valid reason (ie - volunteering) to be at school during school hours.
-
We recently added more Field Day Volunteer spots, so come help us! Volunteer for Field Day!
- No early student check-out after Field Day ends - unless it’s for a valid appointment. Unless your student has a scheduled appointment, we can’t allow students to be taken out of school between the end of Field Day and the end of the school day. This causes undue stress on our office staff, who are managing a lot of additional activity on Field Day.
- Field Day Volunteers may help clean up the event, wait in your vehicle, or leave and come back to pick up your student/s at the end of the school day.
- Event photos - We will have a photo booth station with an instant print camera where students can take a printed photo to bring home. We will post some photos taken from a distance of Field Day, but no close up photos will be posted to prevent images of "Do Not Photo" list students from being posted.

Puesta Del Sol Garden
Garden update:
We’ve made the decision to let the garden lie fallow while the district groundskeepers manage the pest problem, so there won’t be summer watering and harvesting this year. We’ll supplement the beds with soil-building clover for the summer and start over in the fall.
The search is on for a new PTA garden chair starting the 2023-24 school year! No garden experience required, just the time and willingness to learn some basics. It’s very fun and rewarding, and the new school garden will be set up by the time you take over! Please reach out to Liz Baze at schoolgarden@puestadelsolpta.org if you’d like to learn more.

5th Grade Graduation Ceremony

They will be addressed by several speakers and hear an amazing performance by the Band. A photo booth will be available if you would like to take pictures. Refreshments (popsicles) will be provided at the end of the ceremony. Please plan to arrive on time and be respectful when parking in the neighborhood.

Searching for Host Families
Puesta del Sol is looking for host families for our 2022-2023 Amity interns. Host families play a vital role in the success of the program. By welcoming an intern from another country into their home, volunteer host families gain friendship, understanding, knowledge and a connection to the world. Host families will experience new tastes and customs and have the chance to practice their intern's language. Your children will learn about different parts of the world from the intern and may receive extra help with their own language studies.
At Puesta del Sol, our host families typically host for 13 weeks but offer longer durations. You may select to host for Fall, Winter or Spring or half-year, and we will extend full-year if necessary. The Amity Committee needs 20 host family applications for 6 interns to ensure improved matching and experience for our interns and families. You may make a preference for male or female and/or time of year. We are in need of families interested in hosting male interns.
To apply to be a host family, please fill out an application.

Share Your Talents - Nominate Yourself as a Candidate to Serve on the WSPTA Nominating Committee
We are seeking individuals to self-nominate to serve a two-year term on the WSPTA Nominating Committee.
Candidates have until June 30 to apply to run for one of two positions open on the WSPTA Nominating Committee by filling out this online form.
The bylaws state, in Article 7, Section 2A, that a vacancy on the WSPTA nominating committee shall be filled as prescribed by WSPTA policy. Per policy, Section 7.1.4, there will be a new self-nomination period opened for at least 30 days during which members can self-nominate.
After the deadline for self-nomination, WSPTA will send an electronic ballot to all WSPTA members with a valid email address in the membership database. This ballot will be sent through the platform, Election Buddy, to all members in early July. Members will have at least ten days to submit their ballots. The same quorum requirements apply.
