The New Jersey Real Estate News You Can Use

As we enter the heart of summer, the two words on everyone's mind are inflation and inventory. As the market continues to adjust to this new normal that has been around for the last 30 months, business models are changing, and part of that change is to make sure you are leveraging everything you have and do to produce a healthy bottom line. One place to start is your email signature. Your email signature can generate referral business. The other place is your LinkedIn profile. Check out the two stories in this week's Title Wise.

11 Elements for a Powerful Email Signature
What should you include in an email signature? There are plenty of pieces of information you can choose from. Scan this list and decide which ones are best for you and your situation.

1. Your full name
Use your professional name, but also make sure that if people call you Jimmy, include that as well.

2. Include your title, and any professional designations. Also awards like New Jersey Circle of Excellence.

3. Address/Website
You can include your street address, but your website is even better.

4. Telephone number
Make sure you include your numbers, designating with an O for office and M for mobile.

5. Social media links
If you maintain a social media presence, use the social media icons.

6. A headshot
Your headshot will say more about you than most other information. It puts a face on the name and that can make all the difference in the world.

7. Your business logo
The logo will establish a neuro-connection between you, what you do and what business you are in.

8. Your YouTube channel
If you have a YouTube channel, feel free to put it into your signature. Here is a great example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6ABdqE0QB8

9. Your LinkedIn
LinkedIn is different from Facebook, Twitter and other platforms in that it is all about presenting a business profile. On LinkedIn you can post articles, which can give people a deeper insight into what you know and how you go about doing it.

10. Engage
In your email signature you can also drop in a question, but make sure it is not the same question all the time. You can have it link to a landing page where they can get a FREE tip sheet.

11. Booking links
If you don’t have a booking link on your signature you are missing out. Include a Calendly link that goes to your booking calendar.

Become More Linkable on LinkedIn
Those people who are looking to get back to normal, we haven't been normal for the last two-and-a-half years. But the kind of abnormal we've been in has been the most dynamic, strongest real estate market probably in modern history. Besides the historical low interest rates, and the huge buyer demand, and the inventory shortage, we also have had the benefit of many digital platforms, which made marketing properties easier than ever. But now that interest rates have crossed the 6% line, the normal that had been for the last 30 months is no longer here. Moving forward, we have to adjust the way we go about doing our business. We have to be more intentional and relational. Clarity. Consistency. Continuity. The fact that no one knows exactly how this economic season is going to look is not problematic; it simply makes those who are prepared for the new market possess a competitive advantage. LinkedIn is going to take on a greater role in everyone's business.

Headshot
You may want to update your headshot on LinkedIn, especially if you haven't changed it in the last 10 years, or more.

Profile Details
Also you may want to include in your profile the number of sales, and the amount of time your listing spent on the market. The speed of every transaction has become one of the strongest selling points for real estate agents.

Recommendations
You may want to go about requesting some updated recommendations from your clients and associates. Most business people have been so busy doing business that they haven't maintained their LinkedIn view complete with references and recommendations. A quick suggestion is don't make your profile all about you; you may want to give people something that they identify with, such as client confidence, access, and the number of sales that were above asking price.

Connections
Start connecting with those individuals who have geographic proximity to your farm of business. Don't just connect to other real estate agents.

Avoid Politics
Partisan, opinionated culture. Politics is not going to earn you any more business. It may actually cause you to lose some connections and friends.

Share Other People’s Posts
Someone puts up a post that you find valuable and useful. Share it. One of the best ways to reinforce relationships is by sharing other people's content. Videos, if you're willing to make the investment, are a great way to garner the attention of your audience and position yourself as an expert in the areas you're looking to establish yourself within.
