Incentives on a Dime

For Recovery and Drug Court Teams

August 2, 2023, from 12:00 AM - 1:30 PM


Incentives on a Dime is a 1 ½ hour session that focuses on learning the science supporting the use of incentives and their effective application. The training includes a deep dive into multiple affordable evidence-based incentives including positive peer board, certificates, hand-made cards, “easing the burden” incentives, fishbowl, spin the wheel, tokens such as Decision Dollars, and more.

For Clearinghouse 2023-2025 strategic planning, they are conducting a needs assessment. They are requesting your assistance in gathering feedback and insights from the LPCs and coalitions so they can plan accordingly. Please take this survey by August 15th.

SAMHSA Harm Reduction Framework

The SAMHSA Harm Reduction Framework will inform SAMHSA's harm reduction activities moving forward, as well as related policies, programs, and practice. SAMHSA's aim is to integrate harm reduction activities across its Centers and initiatives, and to do so in a manner that draws on evidence-based practice and principles while maintaining sustained dialogue with harm reductionists and people who use drugs (PWUD).

Drug overdoses are continuing to increase, largely driven by fentanyl. A recent study shows medication for treating opioid use disorder is underprescribed in the United States, particularly for Black patients. Additionally, xylazine, or "tranq," is increasingly being mixed with fentanyl.
