Hurray! It’s Time for Summer Vacation at SusanvilleStuff
We’ve reached the mid-point of our Susanville Summer and it’s time for us to close our office for a brief break before we come back to a busy month, including the Lassen County Fair! Our offices will be closed until July 8th as we take some time off to get out and enjoy our Lassen County summer.

We will still be around to cover breaking news or stories that are important, plus we will still have some daily features like weather, LMUD’s ‘This Day in History’ and other assorted goodies we have planned for you.
Have a wonderful week everybody! Jeremy, Marshel, Terra, Shelley and Susan

Susanville Gets Meter Fine Boxes
July 5, 1957

The Susanville police department has installed “Fine-O-Meter” boxes at six convenient locations on Main St., and on Lassen St., both north and south.

Chief Police Fred D. Bradbury stated that these boxes will eliminate the necessity of making a trip to justice court or having to mail the amount to bail assessed.

Effectiveness of the Fine-O-meter is predicted on courtesy and convenience to persons who receive overtime parking citations, said the chief. The new envelope tickets now being used will permit the person to place the amount of bail in the envelope and deposit it in one of the Fine-O-Meter boxes.
