Rendering of new terminal walkway
FERRY TERMINAL BEGINS CONSTRUCTION – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Pack your patience as you commute via WSF. Still reeling from pandemic staff shortages, DOT's construction of the new $33M overhead Bainbridge Island terminal walkway is officially underway.

Engineers are onsite, bike lanes have been temporarily moved and of course, there’s the occasional power outage or two.

But it is certainly time, since the wood-piling construction of the current walkway is 50+ years old and unlikely to survive an earthquake – should one occur.

SURVEY SAYS ... SELECT RESIDENTS GET CITY SURVEY
Residents were randomly selected to participate in a survey which asks for feedback on various local topics and city projects.

The survey was designed to be administered nationwide and city leadership will also receive insights about Bainbridge Island as it compares to other data from cities of similar size.

If you received one, please take time to fill it out.

PLANNING + PERMIT FEES SET TO INCREASE
Sept. 1
It’s been a while – 2007 to be exact – since the city updated building and planning fees. That changes in September when fees will go up and allow the city to recover costs of performing building and planning permit work. Right now, fees do not recover the full cost of staff time and the difference is made up from the city’s General Fund.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT
WELCOME NEW MEMBER CEDARWING BUILDERS
Robert and Ivy White started Cedarwing Builders in 2015 with a focus on high quality construction and excellent customer service. From the start, their goal has been to create lasting relationships, not only with their clients, but with their employees and subcontractors as well.

They realize that often their clients have never built or remodeled a home and their goal is to be the exception to the cliche of the frustrating construction experience.

They consider a project a success when the client feels they have been provided with a superior service at a fair price.

We are most grateful for their sponsorship of the shuttle buses for the 2022 Grand Old 4th.
