Board of Directors Holds

Annual Organizational Meeting

The Board of Directors, with four newly elected members, met on Monday, May 2 to elect this year’s governing officers. Officers are:

President – Michael Traynor

Vice President – Ashley Bitner

Secretary – Nancy Tatum

Treasurer – Howard Grove

Assistant Treasurer – Diane Fusco

The Board will conduct its annual legal review and training session with counsel on Tuesday, May 17 at 3:00 pm. This meeting will be held at the AFC Lower Level Meeting Room and will be conducted in Executive Session.

The Association needs your help and invites more residents to join in our effort to provide the utmost in customer service at all of our various amenities. We are currently hiring for the following part-time positions: Boathouse Attendant, Pontoon Captains, Member Service Specialist (AFC Check-In Desk), Fitness Instructor, and Personal Trainer.

WCA employees who work 20 hours a month benefit from complementary memberships for fitness, indoor pool and tennis. Come join the team or share these openings with any job seekers you know.

This Coming Memorial Day Weekend

“Memorial Day is a time to pay tribute to the fallen. It is a time to pause and reflect and honor those who died serving our country.” If you would like to pay tribute to a fallen member of the Armed Services, you may donate to have Red Poppies displayed at our Memorial Day Event on Saturday, May 28th and our Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 30th at 11:30am @ the Pavilion. Please fill out the form HERE to contribute. The deadline for contributions is May 13, 2022.

Pool Season is Here!

Do You Need a Keytag?

Pool season is here! If you do not have a barcoded key tag (or if you need a replacement due to loss or damage), please contact the WCA office as soon as possible. Please remember that each family member needs their own key tag. Scanning your key tag will make entry to the pools easier and quicker! Call the WCA office at (804) 739-4344, or email

frontdesk@woodlakeonline.com and ask for a form to complete to receive your key tags.

The Farmer's Bazaar is still going strong and we want to be sure to support our vendors! New vendors are coming each week, so come check out the event. The next market is Tuesday, May 10th, 9am to 1pm.

Pontoons cruises are waiting for you! Book a cruise or a Saturday morning cruise for you and your family or guests. It's a great way to spend the holidays, summer days or Mother's and Father's day. Call the main office to reserve.

Poem Contest for Memorial Day-Anyone can participate. Lifestyle Services is looking for the BEST POEM about what Memorial Day means to you. The winner of the contest will have their poem read at our Memorial Day Event and at our Memorial Day Ceremony. Deadline is May 19, 2022. Please send all poems to jennyd@woodlakeonline.com. Look forward to reading them!

Sunday is Mother's Day! Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. The official Mother's Day holiday arose in the 1900's as a result of the efforts of Anna Jarvis, daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. Following her mother's 1905 death, Anna Jarvis conceived of Mother's Day as a way of honoring the sacrifices mothers made for their children. So pamper and be nice to your mom on Sunday!

The Ageless Stretch and Strength class has moved from Wednesdays at 3pm to Mondays at 11am. Plus, we have added a class on Fridays at 11:30am with Anne!

Unfortunately, we are having to take what will hopefully be a short break from cycle classes. However, the cycles are available for members to use. Just check in with the front desk to gain access.

P'Nut is back with Zumba on Tuesdays at 9:45am and Saturdays at 1pm.

The Fitness Center hours are: 5:30am-8pm Monday-Friday, and Saturday-Sunday 8am-5pm. The Indoor Pool hours are 7am-7pm Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday 8am-5pm.
