Immigration Justice and What You Can Do
Did you know that the Tzedek Committee is currently helping to support three asylum-seeking families?

Immigrant justice has been a priority at Mount Zion for many years. In 2017, Mount Zion boldly stood up for immigrants at risk for deportation, and our board voted unanimously to become an Immigrant Justice Congregation. Now, we need your help to support three asylum-seeking families.

Our current needs include:
  • Books and educational toys for the Guatemalan children (ages 7, 4, and 3 months) to assist the children in learning to read English (there is a drop-off box in the alley entrance hall next to Cantor Spilker’s office.)
  • Diapers for a 6 month old (size three).
  • Target and grocery store gift cards
  • Volunteers to help provide rides, tutoring and professional services

Please contact Diana Dean, Mark Joffe, or Carla Feldhamer if you are able to help out.
In the Community

- Don’t miss the Minnesota JCC Symphony Orchestra as they close out their 96th season on June 7 at 7:30 pm with an unforgettable evening of orchestral music. With the theme of “Humor, Dance & Transformation,” this program includes works by Biebl, Haydn, Bizet, Abreu, Zimmer, and Coleridge-Taylor, all performed with masterful wit and vibrancy under the direction of conductor Chi-Chi Lin Bestmann. Join us for a night of musical magic and celebrate the end of another historic season. Details.
