Volunteers Needed

Did you know that Hope Center Houston is open? Yes, we're open! Monday through Friday from 9-3pm we are offering our friends experiencing homelessness a delicious hot breakfast, lunch, showers, laundry, clothing, social services, mentoring and more! Awesome! But what's missing you may ask? YOU! Hope Center "You-ston" is seeking additional volunteers in all positions. Please visit our website for a volunteer application and information about our programs and services. CHRISTMAS IN JULY

We hope you all enjoyed a wonderful celebration of food, fellowship and fireworks with your family and friends over the July 4th holiday. But the celebration continues at Hope Center Houston the entire month of July as we introduce The Twelve Days of Christmas by artist Amanda J. Sisk. The series is now complete and the twelfth ornament, Twelve Drummers Drumming, features and supports Hope Center Houston with a special opportunity to purchase and benefit HCH. Watch this space for a special announcement early next week introducing the ornament series...Merry Christmas!

DONATIONS

Special thanks to Rebekah Tuer and her 5th Grade VBS class (shown be//low) of John Wesley United Methodist Church who visited Hope Center Houston several weeks ago. They created and delivered boxes of special manna bags, visited with our Executive Director, learned about our mission, and said "hello" to many of our homeless friends gathering for a meal.

Speaking of donations...we currently have urgent need of the following items:

BREAKFAST & LUNCH NEEDS

• Jelly – any size, any flavor

• Iced Tea Mix – a canister makes 30 quarts of iced tea

• Granulated Sugar – 2, 4, or 5 lb. bags

• Ground Coffee - in a canister. Extra-large size, please

• Salad Dressings – any type, no specific container

• Bottled Water

Visits & Tours

What a blessing it was to recently host Ministers from Bammel Church of Christ for a visit and tour of Hope Center Houston. Welcomed by Debbie Johnson and Br. Allen White, OSF, a personal tour, q&a, and a conversation about our mission serving Houston's homeless community were shared with David Ayres/Minister of the Word and Michael Montalvo/Body Life Minister. Thanks, Pastors David and Michael, for your visit...and support!

Feeding the Homeless

Thanks to our partnership with British Petroleum, the Houston Food Bank, dozens of congregations, and individuals just like YOU, we are able to offer delicious and nutritious meals every single day. Special thanks to Chef Robert and his food service team for pulling it all together. Don't think volunteering in the kitchen is fun? Then just ask J.B.!
