February Is Fantastic!

Hello, Knightdale! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day. The month of February has been full of so much kindness. It's a testament to the great people and community we have in our amazing town!

I'm so excited about the many positive things going on around town. I wanted to share just a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Neuse River Elementary Kicks off the February Council Meeting

The Council was pleased to have the students from Neuse River Elementary join us this month to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance!

These young ladies show up to every game with hope and motivation to keep pursuing a sport they enjoy playing. Neuse River volleyball had top playing moments that will never be forgotten, with so many exciting plays keeping the crowd in the stands excited. Most of these ladies will be moving on to high school to continue their success in academics as well as sports.

Mayor Day Receives the

Wendell-Wake County Branch NAACP

Humanitarian Award!

I was honored to receive the Wendell-Wake County NAACP Humanitarian Award! The award celebrates service and leadership in the local Wake community, and I couldn't be more proud of such a service-oriented accolade!

Thanks to Representative Roberson and Councilor Swan for supporting me at the presentation.

I also want to thank my parents, Nathaniel and Diana Day, as well as my aunt, Kathleen Hines, for also coming to support me.

I look forward to continuing the work that spurred this recognition!

The New PAFR Is Now Available!

The Popular Annual Financial Report, or PAFR, is now available for the public to view! Thanks to our Finance Director, Mark Stephens, for producing this year's publication.

Because financial reports can be lengthy and sometimes daunting to decipher, the PAFR was created to provide operational and financial information in a reader-friendly format. It doesn't include all details of the audit report, but it will help citizens increase their awareness of the financial operations of Knightdale.

Celebrating Founders Day with

Delta Sigma Theta!

I want to say thank you to the Knightdale-Wake Forest Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, for inviting me to greet the participants of their North Carolina Statewide Founders Day 2023 Celebration!

Over 1500 members of Delta Sigma Theta attended the event to reflect on the ever-thriving vision of the organization's 22 collegiate founders. I was honored to join them as their recognized110 years of sisterhood, scholarship and service to the local community, state and nation.

Thank you to Councilor Morris for attending and supporting me at this prestigious event!

By the way, did you know your mayor is working on getting her MBA at NC State University? That's right! I couldn't be prouder to be a member of the WOLFPACK. Wish me luck! GO PACK!
