SSMMA Kicks Off Holiday Season with Annual Holiday Jingle and Mingle Dinner
The South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the elected officials, associate members, partners, and friends who attended SSMMA's Jingle & Mingle Dinner last night. We couldn’t be happier to kick off the 2022 holiday season with all of you!

Special thanks to Mayor John Ryan and the Village of Alsip for hosting this year's event. It was a great evening of fellowship for us and the more than 175 attendees who enjoyed a wonderful dinner and were entertained by members of the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra throughout the evening with their sounds of the season.

• Monkey Pox vaccinations are now offered at several clinics throughout suburban Cook County. Learn more.

• Cook County Department of Public Health will be releasing the Cook County Health Survey to learn more about the environmental, neighborhood, and social factors related to health.

• On December 3, CCDPH will partner with Grand Prairie Services to provide COVID-19 vaccinations. $100 gift cards will be given as available. Learn more.

• SSMMA's COVID Vaccine Tracker shows that the current regional vaccination rate is 56.9%, compared to 74.9% statewide.

• As of December 2, the positivity rate for Suburban Cook County reports low according to the CDC level.

The Illinois Emergency Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF) provides up to $60,000 in mortgage assistance to eligible homeowners — paid directly to the servicer, taxing body, or other approved entity. CCDPH Announces Open Call for Over $14 million in Community Grants for Behavioral Health Interventions  
• Cook County Department of Public Health will be awarding over $14 million in grant funding across four years to expand mental health and substance use prevention, treatment, and support in suburban Cook County.

• Grants will range from $250,000 to over $1 million each and are part of the Building Healthy Communities Behavioral Health Initiative, funded under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The application deadline is December 7.

CMAP Seeking Nominations for 2023 Regional Excellence Awards
• CMAP invites you to submit award nominations for the 2023 Regional Excellence Awards. The agency seeks nominations for individuals and projects that prioritize equity, strengthen the resiliency of our 284 communities, and make them more economically competitive.

• Nominations are due by Friday, December 16.
• The Village of Park Forest will partner with the Commission on Human Relations and Sisters Working it Out for a hat, scarf, and glove giveaway on December 10 from 10am-12pm

• This event will take place at the Village of Park Forest Village Hall.
• The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking project proposals for a new competitive freight grant program that aims to improve the mobility of freight throughout the State of Illinois.

• Applications are due December 19.


Moraine Valley Community College Hosting Job Fair for Municipal and Government Jobs
• Moraine Valley invites municipalities and government leaders to participate in their governmental job fair on January 26, 2023.

• AmeriCorps is seeking partners for their 2023 timeframes. Available project dates and deadlines along with the types of service are outlined on their Request for Proposals.

National Saftey Counsel Offering Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grants
• Applications are now open for the latest round of Road to Zero Community Traffic Safety Grants.

• Grants can be used to kick-start new initiatives or grow existing efforts. The application deadline is January 6. Learn more.

Just in Time for Winter - SPC Awards New Liquid Calcium Chloride Contract

• The Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) Governing Board is pleased to announce the award of the 2022-23 Liquid Calcium Chloride Contract (#213) to Sicalco Ltd., from December 5, 2022, through December 4, 2023. The SPC reserves the right to extend the contract for up to four (4) additional, one-year terms upon mutual agreement of both the vendor and the SPC on a negotiated basis. Orders shall be placed with the vendor and Sicalco Ltd. will handle all billing directly to reflect the following contract pricing: Price/Gallon: $0.52 Delivery: $0.19 Total: $0.71.
