Happy School Counseling Week!
It's National School Counseling Week! 💙💛 Thank you to all of our school counselors for supporting every student's social, emotional and academic wellbeing. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling, and are a vital part of the educational process for all students.
Celebrating Career and Technical Education
Career and Technical Education (CTE) classes like automotive technology look a little different today than they did in 1968. With electronics and computer systems, and modern engines with fuel-efficient technology, today’s cars require an array of knowledge and skills to work on—and students in Tahoma’s Automotive Technology program are prepared for the challenge. Tahoma’s students train on cutting-edge technology that prepares them for real-world careers in the automotive industry.

Student Artists Make Mosaics With Meaning
Students in Nicole Kurtz's Digital Art class at Summit Trail Middle School are creating mosaic portraits of influential historic and contemporary Black figures in honor of Black History Month. Using photographs as a starting point, students digitally arrange single-colored geometric tiles to create an image of their chosen figure. After they are all finished, the works will be printed and hung alongside an artist's statement.
We Need YOUR Input!
Our Tahoma 100 journey is a chance for Tahoma families, staff and our community to collaborate on how we can best meet the needs of our students at the start of Tahoma’s second century. Our first Tahoma 100 community event is coming up on March 2 at Summit Trail Middle School and we want YOUR voice included in this important conversation. The Tahoma 100 Cafe will consist of small group conversations about the programs and experiences necessary for student success at all grade levels.

If you haven’t signed up yet, the RSVP form can be found here, or by going to bit.ly/Tahoma100Cafe. Grab a friend to go with you—it’ll be fun, and there will be food!
