2023 Arapahoe County Fairbooks

Hardcopies have been distributed to organizational leaders for 4-H families. The Fairbook can also be downloaded by clicking here.

FairEntry

FairEntry opened for online entries on June 1, 2023. June 15 is the deadline for fair entries with no late fee. Late entries will be accepted from June 16 - 22 with a $25.00 fee per 4-H Exhibitor. NO entries will be accepted after 6/22/23. It is the responsibility of each 4-H family to check with Jean to make sure your entries have been received. Her email address, if you need it, is at the top of this newsletter.

NEW This Year!

Attention FCS & General project members and parents! This year you have the ability to schedule your own interview times with the judges for Fair! This will be done in FairEntry after you have done your entries but BEFORE you hit the "submit" button. Jean has set this up in FairEntry and she has put together a tip sheet for you. She sent it out to you via email, along with a tip sheet on creating entries and an image of where to sign in when you get to the FairEntry home page, on 5/26/23. Both the tip sheets and the sign in image have been posted on our website. You may find them by clicking here.

ATTENTION 4-H PARENTS!

Now that it is getting closer to Fair season and the 4-H community is thriving with their community service projects, project meetings, club meetings and practices we wanted to provide you some helpful information on 4-H Parent Expectations.

Please click on the image to the right and take a moment to read. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at all the events, tag-in’s and shows in coming months.

Due to sanitation and risks to human health, no food or beverage for human consumption will be permitted inside the barn areas. 4-H families and participants are welcome to utilize the 4-H Livestock Sale Dinner tent to have meals.

Please remember to wash your hands regularly, especially when working with livestock.

2023 4-H Fashion Revue

Join us for the 2023 4-H Fashion Revue! This year's theme is “4-H in Hollywood-WALK OF FAME”.

Who can participate? Anyone enrolled in Beginning Clothing STEAM 1, Clothing STEAM 2, Advanced Clothing STEAM 3, Recycled Clothing, Upcycle Your Style, Artistic Clothing, Buymanship and wearable Heritage Arts projects may model up to two garments or articles they have made for themselves. Cloverbuds may also participate in the Fashion Revue but are non-competitive.

Registrations are due by June 15th! Late registrations will NOT be accepted for any reason. Click on the image to the right for the guidelines/rules and the registration form.

Remember, you will need to do your entries in FairEntry for FCS/GEN judging day and a separate registration if you want to participate in Fashion Revue.

Parent/Guardian Season Passes

Parent/Guardian Season Passes opened for purchase Thursday, June 1^st. All sales for the 4-H Advance Parent/Guardian passes will close at 11:55 PM on 6/30/23. You will need to include the 4-H member’s name(s) as well as any other required info. Including the member’s name(s) will greatly help Jean when she is getting the wristbands (passes) together and ready for distribution. Click here to purchase passes. Please note that neither the parent/guardian season pass, nor the 4-H exhibitor passes include the carnival. Separate tickets for that must be purchased, if desired. You can purchase those by clicking here. If you need help with understanding the different passes/tickets, you can also email Jean with those questions.

Every 4-H member who is exhibiting at the Fair will get one free season pass (wristband). You do NOT need to purchase one for your 4-H member if they are exhibiting at Fair. If you have a 4-H member who is not exhibiting at Fair, they will need a pass (or ticket) purchased for them if they plan on attending.

4-H Camping at Fair

Save the Date! The reservation website for 4-H Camping at Fair this year will open on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. More details will follow in the June 16th newsletter!

In order to keep our 4-H families and volunteers informed on 4-H dates and deadlines, the 4-H team has created a document containing an updated list of county-wide dates and deadlines for the 4-H year. This document will be continuously updated and a link will be included in the newsletters and on the Arapahoe County 4-H Member Resources webpage. 4-H Information Night

Do you have questions about 4-H? Please join us for a 4-H Information Night. The 4-H staff will be on the meeting and available to answer your questions.

Also, FairEntry will open for 4-H and Public Competition entries on June 1, so this will be a good chance for you to ask any questions you have about that process as well. This will give families time before the entry deadline (June 15) to get their questions answered so they can get their entries submitted in the system.

Please see the dates below for 2023 Arapahoe County 4-H Shooting Sports events. We are still requiring that members attending a practice use the following link to register for each date. All dates and times are on the signup genius. If a practice is cancelled, all members who signed up for that date will be notified. DO NOT REGISTER FOR A PRACTICE IF YOU DO NOT PLAN ON ATTENDING.

Please note: Participation in the County Shoot does NOT enter you in the Fair. Entries for all Shooting Sports project boards and/or stand alone projects MUST still be done in FairEntry by 6/15 with no late fee. Late entries will be accepted from 6/16 - 6/22 with a $25/exhibitor late fee. NO entries will be accepted after 6/22.

Hunters Safety and Practice Cards

Please make sure that you complete the Hunters Safety Course that is offered by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. You may go to https://cpw.state.co.us for more information. You will need to upload your card in 4Honline if you haven’t already.

When you attend your practices please make sure to take your practice cards to keep updated on your practice record. If you are new you can get those from the certified shooting sports volunteers.
