Did you know... that we have a "Rector's discretionary fund"?

Jane uses this money to support parishioner needs, including medical supplies and housing costs, as well as for thank you gifts, incidental expenses, and more. This fund is separate from the Operating budget. To support this ministry, mark donations "Rector's discretionary".

Please wear your name tag at church. Newcomers and those with short memories appreciate this kindness; it is a sign of St. Laurence’s warm hospitality.

Children's choir!

This spring, we are offering an opportunity for children to sing in a choir. Our interim Music Director, Mary Martell, has a deep passion for this ministry. She writes:

"I was called to Music Ministry when I was 14 years of age.

I began playing in my local parish and started a Children's Choir with singers younger than myself. Whenever I have been in a music ministry position I have invited children to be part of the services.

Even if there are only one or two children, its ok. It’s just what I do. I invite children to participate.

I have been doing music ministry for decades and bring a wealth of experience to a congregation. Even if only in a place for 6 months, I have to offer what I can to enrich the service and invite people to be involved."

The Children's Choir will practice Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:15, beginning February 22. For more information, contact Mary at marymartellmusic@gmail.com

Please note we are renting our space Sunday afternoons from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and Wednesday Evenings from 7:30 - 9:00. This is a small Korean Full Gospel Church.

Daily devotions for Lent

This year, rather that creating paper booklets, we are inviting you to sign up for Lenten devotionals.

YSalt Project is offering a devotional booklet on “Climate and Faith”.

“This seven-week, 40-day devotional takes a “love-and-act” approach (rather than “doom-and-gloom”), building on our love for our neighbors, near and far, and our love for God, Maker of heaven and earth.”

This is a downloadable file, for $10 (US)

And from Kate Bowler: “Lent is full of hard truths. And it is a perfect moment for spiritual honesty. We can look on this tragicomedy with love and bemusement as we wait for the someday that will be God’s promised future. There, God’s kingdom comes. God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. And in the meantime, there’s this . . . our beautiful, terrible days.”
