Volunteering During VBS

It is our youth tradition to volunteer during VBS, either with VBS itself or out in the community. If you want to do a day or days of service during the week of June 26-June 30, let me know by June 15. I will work around the schedules of those who are interested much like we did our day of service at Pilgrims' Inn over Spring Break. Let me know who wants to go, what day(s) you are available, and we'll plan from there.

Gleaning

The Society of Saint Andrew builds relationships with farmers who let volunteer groups go into the fields and pick produce that might otherwise go to waste. This food is then donated to food banks and soup kitchens. It is a great way to serve others. I am on a list to find out about opportunities to glean products like strawberries, tomatoes, blueberries, corn, etc. We'll only have 3-4 days notice but I'll reach out to see who can go help glean these crops to help feed our neighbors in need. It is a fun and fulfilling way to serve.

If your child or spouse is not getting these emails and it would be helpful for them to get them, please let me know and I'll add them to the list! Thanks! It is important that as many people as possible know what is going on with gYg!
