Rutgers Launches EV Project in Major Sustainability Initiative

Rutgers purchased 24 new electric vehicles this fall as part of a decade-long plan to phase out all 700 of Rutgers' gas-powered vehicles. Rutgers also purchased its first two solar-powered Beam ARC charging stations this fall. “We are creating a culture of sustainability at Rutgers,” said Angela Oberg, chief climate officer and senior director of the Office of Climate Action at the university. Sustainability Ambassador Program

We are accepting new Ambassador Applications for Spring 2025 Semester to join our current Ambassador Team for the Academic Year of 2024-2025.


Ambassadors starting in the Spring 2025 Semester (January 21, 2025 –May 2, 2025) will receive a $1,500 stipend as compensation for their work for the Spring 2025 Semester.

This year, OCA is hosting the 2025 Green Jobs fair in partnership with the New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability (NJHEPS). This will expand the reach of the fair to students from colleges and universities across New Jersey. Check back soon for more details.
