Mark your calendar for these upcoming events celebrating our graduating class of 2024!

Suggested Deadline to Order Regalia - March 1

We strongly encourage all students planning to participate in this year's commencement ceremony to order their regalia by March 1 to ensure that you receive it on time. To place your regalia/invitation order, visit The Mercer University Landing Page from the Herff Jones College Division. Your order will be shipped directly to your home address. You will only need to order the package that includes your gown, hood, and cap/tassel. 


View the regalia types and package details. Please note that if you order a Stole of Gratitude, you will not be able to wear it during the commencement ceremony.  


Match Day Ceremony

March 15 | 11:15 pm | Large Classroom (Columbus) | Willingham Hall (Macon) | Auditorium (Savannah)

Envelopes will be opened at 12 pm. More details to come.


Graduate Program Hooding Ceremony

May 1 | 2 pm | Auditorium (Macon) 

Doors will open at 1:30 pm. Please encourage your guests to arrive by 1:50 pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. More details to come.


Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

May 2 | 2 pm | St. Francis Hospital Auditorium (Columbus) | Auditorium (Macon) | Auditorium (Savannah)

Doors will open at 1:30 pm. Please encourage your guests to arrive by 1:50 pm as the ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. More details to come.


Commencement Ceremony

May 4 | 2 pm | Hawkins Arena - Macon Campus

Check-in for students will start at 10:00 am in the Intramural Courts. Students should be dressed in their regalia and seated in Hawkins Arena by 10:30 am for instructions. For more information, please view the commencement guide.

GCEP 2024 Rural Emergency & Critical Care 

February 24-25 | MUSM Savannah Campus

The Georgia College of Emergency Physicians (GCEP) will hold its annual conference on the MUSM Savannah campus.

Registration is free for MUSM students.


The GCEP is also looking for student volunteers to help set up on February 23 at 4:00 pm and during both days of the event. If you are interested in volunteering, you can sign up here

Nathan Deal Scholarship Applications Closing Soon

Applications for the 2024 Nathan Deal Scholarship Program will close on Monday, March 4, at 11:59 pm. We encourage all medical students with a strong commitment to practicing primary care in a rural medically underserved Georgia county to apply.

Program Dates: June 17 - July 26

Applications for the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center's maternal health observership program are open to rising second-year medical students. Apply today to:

  • Expand your learning experience practicing in rural, medically underserved communities.
  • Receive a rewarding opportunity to become familiar with best-in-practice care.
  • Gain knowledge on telemedicine and care options for underserved communities.

Annual General Safety Education Session

MUSM hosts 60th Student National Medical Association Region IV conference

Mercer University School of Medicine hosted the Student National Medical Association Region IV's annual Medical Education Conference at the Macon campus February 2-3.

MUSM students present at Atlanta Piedmont Hospital


Last week, Dayva Hubbard and Julia Bondeson, second-year students in MUSM's Master of Family Therapy Program, presented at Atlanta Piedmont Hospital. In their presentation, "A Relational Model for Supporting Individuals with Chronic Illness," they addressed the socio-cultural aspects of treatment and living with a chronic illness and invited group members and practitioners to engage in a mindfulness activity.

The Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center is looking for medical students to lead teddy bear clinics, conduct blood pressure checks, and perform other health demonstrations.

Special Topics in Rural Health

The Rural Health Sciences PhD Program will be hosting several guest lecture events focused on rural health this semester. Each session will start at 9 am in the LRC Commons Room 201 on the Macon campus. The sessions will also be recorded to share later.
