Pine'eer Artisan Gift Shop
The 44th Annual Indoor/Outdoor August Craft & Artisan Festival is coming up, and the club is still accepting vendors. The Festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. inside the Ocean Pines Community Center. If you are interested in obtaining a booth to sell handmade items, contact Jane Wolnik at j.wolnik63@gmail.com. The Pine’eer Artisan Craft and Gift Shop is always seeking new crafters. If you are an artisan who would like to join, contact Sharon or email opcraftclub@aol.com for more information. All new crafters must go through the juried process, and when items sell, profits return to the community. Since its inception, the craft club has donated $175,000 back to Ocean Pines and has been handcrafting in the community for more than 40 years. The gift shop is open Saturdays 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Community Church at Ocean Pines Shepherd's Nook, Angels' Attic, and Sarah's Pantry
The Shepherd's Nook and the newly named Angels' Attic (formerly the Flea Market), thrift stores at the Community Church at Ocean Pines, offer gently used (and some new) clothing and household goods at greatly reduced prices. Funds raised are used for the missions of the church. The schedule for the Shepherd's Nook and the Angels' Attic is Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. The church also supplies food to the community through Sarah's Pantry. First Wednesday of Every Month: AGH Diabetes Support Group / 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Mondays: Delmarva Chorus / 6-8 p.m.
The Delmarva Chorus, a chapter under the Sweet Adelines International and under the direction of Carol Ludwig, practices every Monday at the Ocean Pines Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. The Chorus accepts all women who love to sing, laugh and make new friends. Members entertain at civic events, charitable functions and participate in many other activities such as ways-and-means projects and social events. Other activities include Memorial/Veterans Day performances at the Worcester County Veterans Memorial at Ocean Pines, an annual American Legion convention performance in July, and the Delmarva Chorus annual fundraiser event. Try a free platform tennis lesson at the platform tennis courts at the Ocean Pines Racquet Center. Platform (paddle) tennis is played year-round and has elements of tennis and racquetball. The fenced court is 1/3 the size of a tennis court. The Ocean Pines Platform Tennis Club hosts many social events and welcomes new members. All abilities are welcome, and equipment is provided. Aug. 6: Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce Flounder Tournament
The Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce will hold its 15th annual Flounder Tournament and Auction.
All participants must be registered by Friday, Aug. 5 at noon. Weigh-ins and the auction will take place at the Ocean Pines Marina and Yacht Club. Lines may go in at 7 a.m. and must be out by 3 p.m., and fish must be weighed by 4 p.m. Sponsorships are available. Aug. 6: Safe Boating Class / 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will teach the state-mandated Recreational Safe Boating Course at the Ocean Pines library. Discussions include local water knowledge, piloting, knots, boating terms, trailering, maintenance and more. An in-person class will also be held at the library Sept. 13-15 from 6-9 p.m. Virtual courses will be held Oct. 11-13 and Nov. 8-10. Aug. 13: Ocean Pines Anglers Club / 9:30 a.m.
Local boating columnist Dan Collins will be the guest speaker at this month's meeting, held at the Ocean Pines library. His monthly column 'Knot & Knots' provides tips on boating and an occasional war story. He is an avid photographer with over 100 photos appearing in the various local newspapers, a coxswain in the USCG Auxiliary, and the author of two novels. All are welcome.

Aug. 27: Ocean Pines Players Open House / 12-3 p.m.
Learn more about the Ocean Pines Players at this free event, held at the White Horse Park Pavilion. Refreshments, theater games, costume dress-ups, photo opportunities, singing and auditions. Aug. 29: Ocean Pines Mixed Bowling League Kick-Off Meeting / 1 p.m.
The league will begin its next season in late September 2022 and will hold a kickoff meeting on Monday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. in the Ocean Pines Community Center. Current and prospective members are encouraged to attend. The league has been active for over 20 years. There is fun to be had and friends to be made for anyone who would like to join. Please contact Barbara Harman at 301-980-7798 for more information.

Sept. 3: Ocean Pines Chamber of Commerce 8th Annual Car Show / 10 a.m.
This annual event will be held at Veterans Memorial Park. Food trucks, music by Radio Ocean City and more. Trophies awarded in several categories including classic, antique, hot rod, modern, customs, Jeep and people’s choice. The car show will begin at approximately 10 a.m. and trophies will be awarded by 1 p.m. Online registration is $15 before the event, or $20 the day of the show. Day-of registration will be at Veterans Memorial Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. All cars must be registered by 10 a.m. to participate. Sept. 22: Republican Women of Worcester County Patriot Day Fashion Show Luncheon
