Often our elders have wisdom to share with younger generations. In this month's blog, we would like to share some words of the wise with our elders. These are good reminders for all of us that age is simply a number.

“Life is short…Live, Love, and Laugh.” 

ExquisiCare staff, family, and friends enjoyed a walk in Rundle Park in support of raising funds for Alzheimer's, a cause that is very dear to our hearts.

On June 6th, ExquisiCare hosted a "Bowl-a-rama" at the Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes. All who attended had a great time and raised funds for Alzheimer's awareness. Thanks to Liz, Life Enrichment coordinator, and all of her hard work, we were able to present the Alzheimer's society with a $1,000 donation.

At ExquisiCare and Care at Home, we are all too familiar with the devastating effects of MS. In addition to serving our clients who suffer from this disease, we all know someone personally who is affected by MS.

Some of the efforts we are involved in to alleviate the suffering are:

Dawn Harsch, our President/CEO, is a member of the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation cabinet which is working hard to raise $12,000,000 in the next 5 years towards the research of ending MS.

Wendy Hoover, our Care Manager with Care at Home, is taking part in the MS Ride to conquer MS on July 9th and 10th.

Father's Day is a day to celebrate all of the wonderful things our fathers, and the fathers of those we love, have done. It is a time to remind them how much they are appreciated and respected.

At ExquisiCare we celebrated the fathers in our homes by preparing them a breakfast they would love and having cake. We took time to enjoy some of the things they do, like cars and art.

Respect is one of the core values at ExquisiCare and we have the utmost respect for the fathers in our homes.

Our furry friends play an important role on our mental health.

ExquisiCare has partnered with CAAWLS who brings in some friends to visit our residents on a regular basis.
