VIRGINIA BEACH -- As early as July 7, contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation's Laskin Road Bridge Replacement and Widening Project will implement a traffic shift on eastbound Laskin Road, from approximately the Laskin School Annex near Fremac Drive to the bridge over Linkhorn Bay.
Both eastbound (toward the Oceanfront) travel lanes will be shifted to the right, allowing crews to perform utility work in the median throughout this location. Access to properties by eastbound traffic will be maintained at all times.
Alternating, single-lane closures will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help crews safely implement the shift. Motorists should stay alert when traveling through the work zone and obey the reduced speed limit of 35 mph.
This traffic pattern is expected to be in place through early 2023.
The above work is weather-dependent, and the schedule is subject to change.
