The new Aviation Mechanic – General, Airframe, and Powerplant Airman Certification Standards (ASA-ACS-1) will be shipping by the end of July. This newly released FAA publication defines the aeronautical knowledge, risk management, and skills required for the Mechanic Certificate. Also included within the text is the new FAA-G-ACS-1; a companion guide to the Aviation Mechanic General, Airframe, and Powerplant Airman Certification Standards that provides additional information pertinent to anyone involved with the FAA airman certification process. Additionally, ASA has included references for each subject, so applicants, instructors, and evaluators will know which FAA publication to look to for additional guidance on the subject, including the scope and depth of the expected knowledge and skill. |
