Technology First Anniversary Celebration

On Tuesday, August 22, the Developmental Disabilities Administration, together with the Maryland Technology First Task Force, hosted our first-anniversary celebration of Maryland becoming a Technology First State! Over 100 in-person attendees and over 100 who participated virtually heard from invited innovators of technology including presentations from Dr. Bradley Schlaggar, CEO of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, Jessica Stine, DDA western region advocacy specialist, Kyra Harvey, Abby George, Mercedes McKeel and Rodney Jackson from SEEC, Linda Mayhue, of Xandar Kardian, and our keynote speaker, Beth Bullard from Safe in Home.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage with over 14 vendors who demonstrated and displayed innovative technology and enjoyed festivities with coffee from Park n Perk, pizza from Pizza di Joey and Taharka Brothers ice cream. The Task Force and the DDA thank our sponsors for our ASL interpreters, captioning, and food trucks!

We were able to celebrate virtually through our livestream on Facebook, and if you missed it, you can view it anytime here:
