Meet the New Department of Otolaryngology Chair

Today is José Zevallos’ first day as the new Chairman and Dr. Eugene N. Myers Endowed Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He comes to Pittsburgh from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. There, he was Division Chief and Professor of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology.

Former Ophthalmology Resident Gives Back

A former ophthalmology resident at the University of Pittsburgh is giving back in a big way. John Sheppard, MD, MMSc, has established the John and Clelia Sheppard Endowed Chair to support research in the Department.

French Delegation Visit

The Science and Technology unit of the French Embassy and Consulate visited Pittsburgh June 29-30, hosted by the Eye & Ear Foundation. While there was a specific focus on José-Alain Sahel, MD, and his vision research, the guests learned about our city, its world-class universities, and the future of the region as a powerhouse in healthcare and life sciences.

ARCS Lecture on Survivorship

The Pittsburgh Chapter of the ARCS Foundation (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) hosted a lecture on Head and Neck Cancer Survivorship on July 5.
