November 2022
Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County (CTKF) would like to wish our donors, volunteers and supporters a joyous and healthy holiday season. This has been quite a year for CTKF! We resumed our in-person shopping appointments at our new location after two years of offering curbside appointments, and hosted our first in-person fundraising event since 2018.
CTKF owes thanks to it's dedicated team of volunteers for their unmatched efforts in helping with the reopening of the store, as well as with planning a successful event. Our donors have stepped in to support us during a year filled with many important happenings, and have allowed us to continue to fulfill our mission of providing low-income children with clean or gently used clothing, free of charge.

Because of the financial support and clothing donations we receive, struggling parents don't have to stress over finding the funds to purchase clothing for their kids. Children don't have to feel embarrassed to attend school in clothing that is not clean or doesn't fit them properly. Both children and parents are leaving our store in high spirits, and we are so grateful to know that we have you on our side to help us change lives.

This year, increasing numbers of families have registered with us seeking assistance. Let's use today, Giving Tuesday, to continue to bring cheer to these Fairfield County families. Give the gift of wardrobe items to children who need it, and donate now!
Thank you to Curtain Call for putting on a fantastic performance of Cabaret. To all the businesses who supported the event through sponsorship, donated a service/product, or made a monetary donation, we are so grateful! So many generous attendees bid on auction items and came out to support CTKF in raising funds to change lives locally. We appreciate you! Give Back This Season
While our recent fundraising event, Cabaret, was a success, our financial needs continue. Every week we have new families applying for assistance. If you missed our event, please consider making a year end donation. Your gift can make a difference.
Another way you can help is to hold a clothing drive for new clothing. We provide 7 pieces of underwear, 7 pairs of socks and 2 sports bras (as appropriate), all new, to every child. We also need to purchase new coats, sneakers and boots as we often run short on sizes. A clothing drive for these new items would be a huge help.
Behind the Scenes at CTKF
Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County is thrilled to offer in-store shopping again. We reopened our doors at our new location, the Lathon Wider Community Center in Stamford, in September. Our volunteers have worked hard to organize the donations of clothing by size and garment type to ensure the store is easy-to-navigate. We are so happy to be able to provide that warm, authentic and cheerful shopping experience that made children feel so welcome before the pandemic. Shopping with us is a simple process. Learn more about the steps involved below.
Clothing Drive Spotlight

Thank you to St. Bridget's Church for organizing a clothing drive on behalf of Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County. CTKF received amazing clothing items from the drive, including many new items. CTKF was thrilled to distribute items to our shoppers! We even received some great Halloween costumes. Volunteers had fun dressing up, and helping our shoppers pick out something to wear for Halloween!

United Rentals is holding a November clothing drive, with many employees participating. When completed, CTKF will be sorting the clothing collected with employees from United Rentals. CTKF relies on donations from drives to maintain our store inventory. Read more about the complete CTKF wardrobe and our sizing needs/items accepted.
CTKF would also like to recognize Natalie Grimm, student and president of Global Connect Club at Darien High School, for organizing a drive. Natalie along with club members Isabella Lonergan, Alex Venezia, Pauline Hausman, Allison Velaj, Peter Canelli and Adien Hocuchin have been doing a yearly clothing drive for CTKF since approximately 2016. Thank you to this terrific group of students for their commitment to CTKF's mission!
The holidays are around the corner, are you shopping on Amazon for gifts? Why not shop and give back at the same time?! CTKF can receive a donation from Amazon, at no-cost to you, every time you make a purchase. Next time you're on the site, choose Clothes To Kids of Fairfield County as your charity of choice. The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to CTKF!
CTKF has also partnered with Minted, a website that sells stationary and custom gifts. Shop with Minted not only for the holidays, but year round, and you'll receive 20% off their products. The company will donate 15% of your purchase back to CTKF. Please use our code FUNDRAISECTKFC to enjoy this generous discount!
Our friends at Kids Helping Kids (KHK) have organized a drive with the Wilton, CT-based toy company, Melissa and Doug. Employees of Melissa and Dog have been collecting new and gently used clothing for CTKF. KHK volunteers (all of whom are students in Fairfield County) will be using the afternoon on December 14th to organize the clothing by size and item type. We look forward to this day of service!

Our mission is to provide new and quality used clothing to low-income or in-crisis school age children, free of charge. We envision a community in which every child has quality clothing so that he or she may attend school with the confidence and self-esteem needed to achieve academic success.
