SHARE:

Yesterday, we shared a statement in support of the Office of New Americans bill (L.D. 2167) as part of a public hearing that took place at the State House. We'd love to share it with our wonderful supporters too:

"As nonprofits, we work hard, head-down to focus on those we serve - we rarely have the capacity to lift our heads up and scan the environment to do meaningful partnerships with other organizations or learn from others doing similar work in other places. The Office of New Americans can provide resources for us to enhance our work, identify and eliminate gaps, and prevent duplication of services."

BIPOC STEM Network and Multicultural Appreciation Night

On the 19th, our Community Integration team went to the BIPOC STEM Network and Multicultural Appreciation Night at the Roux Institute, hosted by The Third Place and Roux African Student Association (RASA). It was a great way to connect with the community and to learn about different opportunities in STEM. All in all, we'd say the event was a resounding success!

UNE Multicultural Event

Shortly after we went to the BIPOC STEM event (the very next day in fact), our Community Integration team joined UNE for their Multicultural event. The evening was a lot of fun, with an array of culturally diverse food, different types of music, and an intense game of international jeopardy. One of our CI team members even won a gift card from the raffle!
