OUR MISSION

The Good Neighbor Health Clinics promote the health of people in the Greater Upper Valley who are in need and do not have the means to pay, by providing free medical and dental care, mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals, and advocating for improved access to dental and health care.

Hear from one of our patients about their experience with Good Neighbor Health Clinics:

" I truly cannot imagine asking for more from Good Neighbor Health Clinics. I am very grateful for the time and effort everyone puts into the clinic and bringing much-needed care to individuals in the area."

- Trudy M.

A Note From Elizabeth

The complications faced in healthcare today are not new, but the pressures health and dental providers feel are growing. Good Neighbor and Red Logan are unique in ways that are easy to recognize: we exist because there is continued need, we can provide care to patients due to our supporters' belief in our mission, and we have a dedicated group of volunteers who make our services possible and accessible. In short, we could not do this without you!

As summer comes to a close and we feel the change of seasons, settle back into routines, and evaluate what we look forward to, we keep in mind those with needs beyond our own. Do not hesitate to tell your friends or neighbors about us, we are here to help. I recognize the valuable work we have always performed which is more than delivering patient care. As a beacon of hope in our community, we need to consider how we can inclusively and sustainably contribute to the long-term health and well-being of the communities we serve. This includes promotion of community collaboration to address economic and racial inequities that create lack of access to opportunity and overall health for individuals and families. Factors contributing to poor health and wellness, such as access to support services, should no longer be the reason people have challenges with their health. With intention, community forges better health outcomes while also creating opportunity to reduce the health disparities in our region.

Thank you for your dedication to our patients,

Elizabeth Austin, MHA

Executive Director

Medical Story

After being displaced from his rental housing during the pandemic, Anthony came to Good Neighbor in what he describes as, 'rough shape'. After connecting with Good Neighbor Health Clinics and other social service agencies within the community, Anthony began, "putting his pieces back together".

"Good Neighbor Health Clinics and Red Logan Dental Clinic have been absolute blessings for me. I have received Primary Care (with the best Primary Care Physician I've ever seen), Dermatology, Dental, and ophthalmology services. I'm even able to receive a month-long membership with the CCBA! I don't know what I would have done or where I would be without you guys."

Dental Story

A long-time resident of the Upper Valley, Lisa wants to share why the care she receives at Red Logan Dental Clinic means so much to her.

"I am fortunate to have been a client of the Red Logan Dental Clinic for many years. I have had many procedures from cleanings, fillings, crowns, and extractions. The staff and volunteers have always treated me with professionalism and respect. I am always made to feel comfortable while in their care.

It is an important reality to acknowledge that people are often judged by other people based on different aspects of their lives. One of them may be the way their teeth look. I am fortunate that the Red Logan Dental Clinic has kept my teeth healthy. I know I may be judged for my disability, the fact I do not have a car, or that I live in a small apartment; I am so grateful that my smile is something that I can be proud of!"

Volunteers & Staff Work on the Clinic Refresh

Our hardworking volunteers and staff took a full week to dedicate to painting the dental clinic! We want to recognize the effort that they were able to put into making this space look great! With fresh coats of paint in the clinic, the space feels lighter and brighter. Thank you to everyone who worked on the clinic makeover!

Volunteer Spotlight

For the month of August we'd like to highlight our volunteer James!

August Volunteer Spotlight:

James

James is a senior at Haverford College in Pennsylvania, focusing in pre-medicine. During his time volunteering with Good Neighbor Health Clinics this summer, James has had the opportunity to be involved in several projects. Embracing every task from staff with a ‘can-do’ attitude; James was able to assist with administrative duties, patient visits, a Diabetes project, light contracting, and painting several areas of the Medical Clinic.

James' favorite lesson from Good Neighbor Health Clinics is to

treat everyone well. "It's really important to ask how people are doing and what help they need".

Thank you James for all of your hard work this summer! We wish you

the best of luck in your senior year!
