Dear Students,
I hope you had a wonderful summer – one that was both productive and relaxing. As we enter the fall term, I am very pleased to share with you that we have in place a reimagined Graduate Center with a robust slate of programming for our graduate and professional student community. The Graduate Center will be the fulcrum of all centrally administered fellowship programs. I am delighted that Jessica Cissell has agreed to take on the mantle of Center Director and look forward to working closely with her as she assumes this role. I hope you will all have an opportunity to engage with the Center and contribute to its success. The Center recently organized a welcome reception for our new graduate students in collaboration with our Student Affairs office. I was gratified to see that over 600 students participated! I am sure we will have similar enthusiasm for forthcoming events. In closing, I wish you all a productive semester ahead and look forward to sharing additional developments on the graduate education and international affairs fronts in coming months.
Warm regards,
-Vijay Ramani, vice provost for graduate education and international affairs
