LICP 2022 Summer Networking Night - August 2
Join LICP for our Summer Networking Night, taking place next Tuesday, August 2, at ICONYC Brewing Company (43-63 11th Street). The event is a great opportunity to reengage with your local business and organization peers, enjoy the summertime, and learn more about LICP events and support opportunities.
 
Admission is $15 for LICP members and $25 for non-members. Your ticket includes lite bites from Sobremesa Cocina Mexicana and one complimentary drink.
BISNOW LIC Event Showcases Growth in Queens
BISNOW, the world's leading B2B platform serving the commercial real estate industry, hosted its Queens & Long Island City State of the Market Boom: Acquisition Trends, Queens' Growing Development Sectors & Rising Multifamily Demand conference last week at the Ravel Hotel. The event brought out scores from LIC's business and real estate community and highlighted emerging opportunities in the borough. Read more on what was discussed here.

Large-scale Puppets and Aerial Cranes at MoMA PS1 -

MoMA PS1 presents Poncili Creación: No gods only flowers, is a visual poem enacted by larger-than-life puppets suspended from construction cranes high above the Courtyard, with live musical accompaniment.

Night Out On Crime with the 108th Precinct - Aug 2
Celebrate National Night Out Against Crime with LIC's 108th Precinct, which will provide a range of family-friendly activities, a live DJ and a performance by the Sunnyside Drum Corps. Refreshments will be served.

Mentor an LIC Student with iMentor (Webinar) - Aug 23
iMentor (LICP Member), an education non-profit and youth mentoring program, is partnering with LIC's Information Technology High School this fall to provide one-on-one mentorships to 300 students. Join this short virtual information session to learn how you can get involved.

The Hope Program
The HOPE Program is a leader among New York City job training providers, upskilling adult jobseekers (ages 18 - 70) for a broad range of sectors, including a focus on green construction, maintenance, infrastructure and related careers. HOPE staff works with individuals facing deep structural barriers to employment. Their comprehensive approach includes classroom training, industry-recognized certifications, digital literacy and access, financial literacy and access, mental health support, case management, paid job training, and the signature “HOPE for Life” approach, which provides a vital community of support throughout the lives of HOPE graduates’ careers. Learn more here.

COVID-19 Updates
As of June 18, the CDC recommended that all children 6 months through 5 years of age should receive a COVID-19 vaccine. More information can be found here.

As of June 13, Mayor Eric Adams announced that masks are optional for 2-4 year old children in all early childhood settings. More information can be found here.

As of June 12, air passengers do not need to get tested and show the COVID-19 test result or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 prior to boarding a flight to the U.S. More information can be found here.
