NEW SCALE NEWS
LIFE SCIENCE LAB AUTOMATION EDITION

August 2023

Dear Lisa,

Big thanks to Andrew Peters for joining us last month as we demonstrated his open-source Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer with our Multi-Probe Micromanipulator System and MPM Pathfinder software. You can check out a short overview video, or watch the full webinar recording. Links are below.

And some exciting news from Neuropixels: The Neuropixels 2.0 four-shank probe is available for sale. MPM System users should order the version with metal cap. See our probe mount prototype below.

Hope you're having a great summer! As always, contact me if you have questions.

- Ed Friedrich

VIDEO

MPM Pathfinder and Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer

SCREEN SHOT OF NEUROPIXELS TRAJECTORY EXPLORER WITH PATHFINDER

This short video shows how the open-source Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer

works with the MPM System's Pathfinder Software.

This short overview video shows how passing probe location coordinates from New Scale’s MPM Pathfinder software to the open-source Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer software allows researchers to see probe locations in the Allen Institute Common Coordinate Framework (CCF) 3D brain atlas during simulation and insertion.

Use simulation to plan trajectories and automatically calculate the mechanical positions of the manipulator arm to achieve the desired trajectory path. During insertions, view the real-time probe position in the Pathfinder viewer and the 3D brain atlas simultaneously.

WEBINAR ON DEMAND

MPM Pathfinder & Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer: Detailed Demonstration and Q&A

SCREEN SHOT OF WEBINAR ON DEMAND - NEUROPIXELS TRAJECTORY EXPLORER AND MPM PATHFINDER

Webinar-on-demand topics include selecting target brain regions, planning trajectories, importing values into Pathfinder, calibrating via bregma and lambda, and monitoring probe positions during live insertions.

This one-hour demo shows in detail how to use Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer with Pathfinder software and the MPM System. Presenters are:

Ed Friedrich - Life Sciences Business Manager, New Scale Technologies

Andrew Peters - Developer of Neuropixels Trajectory Explorer and Principal Investigator, Peters Lab, University of Oxford Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics
