"The Power of Libraries Addressing Inequities in STEM"
The data is clear: there is a lot of work to be done in cultivating more equity in STEM careers. Who better than librarians to help move the needle, ensuring all of the patrons we serve have the ability to compete for jobs in the STEM field?
By providing access to technology and providing STEM-based summer learning programs, libraries have the power to make a difference in the education and career path a child dreams about. As part of ULC's Building Equity Amplify Summer Learning initiative, libraries like Central Arkansas Library System, Cedar Rapids Public Library and La Porte County Public Library are leading and sharing best practices in this work.

HEALTHY FOOD COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE | |
Summer Meals Resource List
With summer rapidly approaching, many libraries and other organizations are working hard to ensure children have access to the meals they need while schools are out of session.
As a member of the Healthy Food Community of Practice, ULC and many ULC members worked with a group to create this list of resources from national organizations, state advocates, and USDA on summer meals. Resources include guidance on a range of topics including ways to access meals, how to become a summer meals site or sponsor, examples from other programs, and more.
The Healthy Food Community of Practice, funded by the Walmart Foundation and facilitated by Share Our Strength through its subsidiary Community Wealth Partners, is made up of nearly 50 organizations across the country focused on healthy food access and consumption.
