Organs are most commonly recovered after brain death, when all brain function has permanently stopped. Brain death is not the same as being in a coma or a persistent vegetative states, and a physician declares brain death independent from and regardless of organ donation status. No one has ever regained consciousness from or survived brain death, and medical care with cease after brain death regardless of a patient's donor registry status. Donor Alliance Personnel Updates

Dianna Deis has resigned as the Director of People and Culture. Dianna shared "working alongside so many in the organization, it has truly been a pleasure to support the talented and unique team members that make up Donor Alliance. As I take an opportunity to do a bit of globe hopping, I will carry with me the connections made, the stories shared and the laughter exchanged. With gratitude and the utmost sincerity, many thanks and well wishes to all". Please join us in wishing Dianna continued personal and professional success.

We are thrilled to announce the new addition of a fantastic new team member to Donor Alliance! Please join us in welcoming Mary Schroer, who will be joining us as our Community Relations Coordinator in Casper, Wyoming, beginning on December 10th! Mary's passion for community engagement is evident in her work managing local events like Thankful Thursday, a program aimed at partnering with nonprofits to elevate their presence in the community. She holds an Associate's Desgree in Communications from Casper College and enjoys reading, hosting game nights and spending time with her beloved hairless cat, Gertrude. The 40th Annual Festival of Lights Parade is one of the most cherished holiday traditions in the Pikes Peak region. The parade is aired live on KKTV and rerun during the holiday season.
