This Sunday, January 21, we will set aside Brian Schoch to serve as elder.
Brian has attended Worthington Christian Church since 2004, where he met his wife, Shannon, on the first Sunday he attended. They have been married since December of 2006. They have two boys – Tyler (age 13) and Jordan (age 12). Shannon has attended Worthington Christian Church since birth.
Brian grew up in Minster, a small town in west-central Ohio, where he attended St Augustine’s church throughout his childhood. He went to Miami University (Ohio), where he graduated with a degree in Marketing before attending The Ohio State to study education. He and Shannon live in Worthington, and Brian is a high school teacher in New Albany.

Brian and Shannon have been very involved at WCC and are currently helping to teach the middle-school class on Sunday mornings.
Please join us in welcoming our newest elder, Brian Schoch!

Every year on Super Bowl Sunday, we partner with Lifeline Christian Mission to pack 100,000 meals to send to hungry, poverty-stricken children. This year, we will double that amount and pack 200,000 meals. To do that, we need 224 volunteers per hour on the morning of Sunday, February 11. That's over 700 volunteers that are needed for Hunger Bowl to be a success!
Sound intimidating? It's not! The work required to pack a meal is fairly simple and easy, making it a great service opportunity for Elementary-age children, teenagers and/or adults of any age! And each volunteer will be part of a team and only needed to serve for one hour.
| |
Meal packing times are 8:30, 9:45, 11:00 AM, 12:15, and 1:30 PM on Sunday, February 11.
Our most popular meal pack times are 9:45 and 11:00 AM, so if you want to participate then you will need to register early. Gloves and hairnets will be required and are provided and childcare will be available at the 9:45 or 11:00 AM hours only.

We haven't gotten much snow this winter, but we all know that can easily change. Before that happens, we wanted to remind everyone about our Inclement Weather Policy in case a major storm decides to head our way.
Sunday worship services are rarely canceled. However, in the event that a Level 3 Snow Emergency is declared for Franklin and/or Delaware County, our regular worship services may be canceled for the safety of our members and friends.
During the work week, in the event of inclement weather OR a Level 2 or 3 snow emergency is declared for Franklin or Delaware County, it is likely that our regular classes and/or activities will also be canceled. It is also possible that under such circumstances, our church office will open late in the day or close early.
| |
Please check our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter pages for updates regarding any cancellations due to weather. If we must cancel a worship service, we will update the church website, send out announcements through our eView mailing list and notifications through our WCChurch app, and/or contact local news outlets as needed. As always, if you do not feel safe being out on the road, please stay home! | |
|
A Home Communion Kit is available for those worshipping online at home and is limited to those with health challenges, mobility issues, or caregiving responsibilities. Each kit contains twelve disposable cups containing wafers and juice.
To request a kit, don't hesitate to contact the church office at 614-885-8389.

Worthington Resource Pantry |
We want to follow Jesus together, and part of that is being a good neighbor. How do we do that? By doing what we can to meet the needs of a neighbor in crisis! Therefore, we will continue to support the Worthington Resource Pantry for the foreseeable future.
CURRENT NEEDS:
Pasta (1lb. boxes)
Peanut Butter
Oatmeal & Cereal
Personal Hygiene Items/Toiletries
You can drop off your donations at any time! A blue donation bin is available at each of the entrances to the church, and we regularly empty the bins to make room for additional items. If you have any questions, please get in touch with Alison Morrow.
