Mission Monday -

Timeless Discipleship Principles

Join FLGA Executive Director of Missions and Outreach,

Rev. Dr. Peter Meier, for Mission Mondays, a one-hour Zoom call for some great discussion! The Mission Mondays discussions are scheduled for the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 11 am.

November 14 – Timeless Discipleship Principles: There is an old but true statement, “Practices are many, Principles are few – Practices often change, Principles never do.” What are the practices you use to “disciple” or train God’s people to be mature in their faith? What are the principles which help us to evaluate our discipleship methods and practices? Does your church take time to evaluate and make needed changes as you work to make new disciples? How do you know if your discipleship practices are truly effective? Join us for conversation and sharing!

Anyone who wishes to join in the discussion or just listen in is invited. Please click here to get your Zoom link.

A Book for Combat Veterans

Rev. Dr. Mark Schreiber (Emeritus) has published a book for combat war veterans. Nailed!: Moral Injury: A Response from the Cross of Christ for the Combat Veteran was released earlier this year.

Violence in combat assaults the psyche and tests the soul. The combat wounds our Military veterans can suffer are not only physical but often spiritual wounds to the soul. The mission of God to the military and the crucial difference between self-forgiveness and God's forgiveness. Is the conscience the warrior's friend or foe? Schreiber's answer to this ancient dilemma shines through the cross of Christ as God's exclusive lens and mission to the troubled conscience of any warrior.

ALOA Celebrates 30 Years of Ministry

The evening focused on facets of ALOA’s ministry throughout the years and lifted up several individuals dedicated to the organization since the early years. The group was inspired to further their ministry into the future by speaker Tom Cedel, Co-Director of the Thrivent Fellows Program, President Emeritus of Concordia University Texas, and was entertained by the Lutheran humor of comedian Al Ernst.
