Progress made on 6th Street SW over the past two weeks is as follows:
  • Water main installation on the west side of 6th Street SW going south from Wilson Avenue to 27th Avenue
  • Clearing and embankment work in the ravine between Evergreen Packaging and Altorfer Machinery
  • Pavement markings placed to shift traffic to the east half of 6th Street, resulting in a single travel lane in each direction. This pattern will remain in effect until all underground work and placement of the first two layers of asphalt on the west side are completed.
  • Milling of remaining asphalt on the west half of 6th Street was completed this past week

In upcoming weeks, concrete curb-and-gutter will be constructed for the northwest and southwest intersection radii at 6th Street and Wilson Avenue. Curb-and-gutter will also be constructed along the west side of 6th Street to the proposed new driveway for Evergreen Packaging, opposite the Cherry Drive intersection.
