Virtus Investment Partners is hosting an exclusive on-site visit for UConn business students to explore career paths in finance and investment management.


This event offers students the opportunity to network with licensed financial advisors, consultants, and international investors, while gaining industry insights on investment strategies.


This visit will take place on October 31st, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM, at 1 Federal Plaza, Hartford, and will provide a hands-on learning experience for aspiring business professionals.

A manufacturing industry snapshot event will be hosted by UConn School of Business. On November 4th a virtual meeting will be held with Paul Levoie, Chief Manufacturing Officer of the State of Connecticut. On November 6th, a trip to MakerspaceCT in Downtown Hartford will be held.

The School of Business is hosting a two-part Industry Snapshot on Manufacturing with Connecticut's Chief Manufacturing Officer, Paul Lavoie.


Part-one takes place on November 4th, virtually from 5:00 PM-6:00 PM. During this time students will get insights into the world of manufacturing and explore possible careers in the field.


Part-two is a trip down to MakerspaceCT in Downtown Hartford for an opportunity to see manufacturing in action. This event will occur on November 6th from 12:00 PM-1:00 PM.

Accounting for Sustainability

Join the A4S (Accounting for Sustainability) International Case Competition and help shape the future of sustainable business. Showcase your problem-solving skills and compete for $10,000 (CAD). This year's challenge focuses on corporate decarbonization within a just climate transition.

Semi-finals take place February 24th-28th virtually

Finals are in-person in early April in Toronto, Canada (travel funding is available)

The A4S International Case Competition offers students a global platform to shape the future of sustainable business, with this year’s focus on corporate decarbonization. Compete to solve real-world challenges for a chance to win CA $10,000. Register for the info session on October 15th and join the movement for a just climate transition!

LOOKING FOR A COURSE TO BUILD YOUR RESUME OR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS?

Students enrolled in BADM 4895-701: BUILD HARTFORD will attend a weekly 3-credit course to engage with local entrepreneurs, established business owners, and industry experts, delivering compelling business stories that capture and highlight the best of what Hartford has to offer. Students will explore Hartford's rich history and its evolving business ecosystems, particularly within hotels, restaurants, and food service businesses — gaining valuable insights into what drives success and how to share those stories effectively.


By collaborating with peers and local businesses, students will develop skills in storytelling and digital media. Students will learn how to craft authentic and engaging narratives that not only showcase the unique flavors and experiences of Hartford’s hospitality industry, but also highlight the resilience and innovation of its business community.


This course is open to all students, undergraduates and graduates on any campus.

*Please note that although the course is listed as "non-business of junior or higher standing," the course is open to ALL students. If you do not fall under the specification, contact michaela.hartl@uconn.edu for a permission number.*


If you are a Business Data Analytics major, this is the perfect way to fulfill a major requirement and gain professional skills. All other majors, this is a great way to practice skills employers value.

Excel Workshop


Want to strengthen your skills in Excel? Come and participate in an Excel workshop! At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

If you’re an international student wanting to start a business but unsure about your immigration status and its implications, this webinar is for you!


Join Immigration Attorney Dana Bucin and CTSBDC Business Advisor Greg Lewis as they discuss immigration options available to international student entrepreneurs and the resources available to start a business.


This is a 90-minute virtual presentation that will cover important topics such as:

  • US visas: How the system works.
  • Visa options for international students and entrepreneurs.
  • Tips and tactics for navigating employer sponsorships.
  • Advantages and challenges of starting a business while being a student and after graduation.
  • Balancing studying and working in the US.


We welcome your questions during and after the presentation. This event is free to attend, but registration is required. After registering, please complete the pre-event survey and submit your questions about start-ups and issues related to entrepreneurship as an international student.
