Creating the foundation for a lifetime of learning

You already have what it takes to be a great brain-builder! You’ve got the capacity to engage with the children in your life in ways that will support strong, healthy brain development. When loving adults understand the science of brain development—and have a little coaching—they can more confidently turn everyday moments with their children into brain-building moments.

With over 1,000 ways to engage in healthy back-and-forth brain-building, Vroom®  helps lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning. Whether you’re soaking up the sunshine before bedtime, taking some time together on that long-awaited road trip, or just hanging out at home, parents and caregivers like you can always sprinkle in a little brain-building into your routine with your little ones.

Try this Vroom Tip called Dirty Dishes, Goofy Giggles

While you clean up the dirty dishes, show your child a dirty dish and say "yuck" with a funny face. Your expression should make them giggle. With each new dish, use a new word, such as "sticky" or "goopy." See what funny words they can come up with too.

Brainy Background...

Your child learns communication skills from your tone of voice, facial expressions, body movements, and words. They also learn to love the sound of words when you use funny words.

Last chance to take our high school survey on post-secondary education plans!

high school survey

Nationally and here at home, too few high school graduates are pursuing any kind of higher education. We want to help change that and ensure a bright future for everyone. To do that, we are trying to understand the challenges and barriers that Utah students face when they think about college.

So if you know of a current high school student, forward them this survey! All Utah high schoolers are invited to participate in Envision Utah's survey. Responses are completely anonymous. And to sweeten the deal, eligible participants can then enter to win an iPad Pro, Nintendo Switch, or one of a handful of restaurant gift cards at the end of the survey.

Envision Utah has joined Clear the Air Challenge for July 2023!

The Clear the Air Challenge is a month-long competition that gives you the chance to reduce your vehicle emissions by choosing alternative methods of transportation using TravelWise strategies. By driving less and driving smarter, you will ultimately help improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion, and conserve energy in Utah.

Poor air quality becomes a particular concern during summer months when chemical emissions react with sunlight and heat. When chemicals bake in the sunlight this creates what we call “summer ozone,” which contaminates the quality of the air we breathe. Summer ozone is not visible, like inversion is in the winter, making it potentially more dangerous if citizens are not aware of its impact. So, by simply reducing vehicle trips, we can protect our health, our environment and our quality of life.

Desert News

In 1997, the Utah Quality Growth Public/Private Partnership was introduced by visionary Utahns who were concerned with the projected one million new residents that would fill the Greater Wasatch Area. Their goal was to collaborate with the press, local government, and business leaders to find reliable ways to preserve Utah’s high quality of life for future generations. This group became known as today's "Envision Utah."

One of the first obstacles to tackle was the common practice of building further and further away from cities, known as sprawl. As this practice worsened, it resulted in poorer air quality, more traffic, and longer commute times. Communities needed a different way of dealing with growth. Envision Utah has helped guide the growth that our state has faced and continues to face.
