March 31, 2022
Earlier today, the San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) hosted the 74th in a series of online briefings for faith leaders. Today's briefing featured a presentation by United States Department of Homeland Security Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Cybersecurity State Coordinator (Sacramento, CA) Mario F. Garcia, MSCIS, CISSP, who addressed how current world events between Russia and Ukraine could quickly escalate threat levels across the United States that call for immediate communication to mitigate risk. Mr. Garcia also provided information about CISA services and its latest security guidance, as well as high level recommendations for houses of worship, small businesses, home and home office cybersecurity. Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund Director of Community Security Rafael Brinner responded and posed questions to Mr. Garcia following his presentation.
Prior to the featured presentation SF Human Rights Commissioner/SFIC Board Member/Representative of the SF Muslim Community Hala K. Hijazi offered a heartfelt and enlightening reflection on the month-long Muslim observance of Ramadan, which will commence on the evening of Friday, April 1, 2022.
