This Weekend in Worship
This weekend's gospel starts with disciples obsessing over who will be closest to Jesus, leading to Jesus teaching his followers about God’s take on importance and power. Here Jesus makes it explicit that the reversal of values in God’s community is a direct challenge to the values of the dominant culture, where wielding power over others is what makes you great. When we pray “your kingdom come” we are praying for an end to tyranny and oppression. We pray this gathered around the cross, a sign of great shame transformed to be the sign of great honor and service.

Created to Be Free All Saints Celebration
November 2 & 3
Join the celebration on November 2 & 3 as we give God thanks for the freedom we have in Jesus. The weekend includes All Saints festival worship on Saturday and Sunday, celebrating All the Saints, presentation of intent for financial gifts to Faith Lutheran in 2025, and brunch on Sunday at 9:15 am. To learn more and to sign up to help with the brunch, visit faithlc.org/created-to-be-free.
All Saints Weekend Worship
As we gather for worship on All Saints weekend, we celebrate the communion of the saints: a diverse array of witnesses who remind us of God's continuing faithfulness--past, present, and future. We will remember and give thanks for all the saints of Faith Lutheran Church who have died this past year.
Photos, Candles, and Ribbons
As you enter the worship space that weekend, you are welcome to approach the altar area and light a candle in memory of a beloved saint in your life that has died. We light candles in their memory as a symbol of their baptismal candles and a reminder that they are alive in Christ. You are welcome to bring a photo of your loved one to place around the baptismal font in the Commons. Over the next two weekends, you are invited to add the names of your loved ones to a white ribbon (found on a table in the Commons). Ribbons will be hung in the sanctuary celebrating the great cloud of witnesses in our midst.
Stewards of Our Resources
Free to Give serves as our stewardship emphasis this fall. You are invited to enter into a time of spiritual discernment and consider your generosity to financially support God's mission through the ministries of Faith. Intent Cards have been mailed to the homes of members and are also available in the Welcome Center. On November 2 & 3, the Faith community is invited to place Intent Cards on the altar during the Offering in worship.
Pledge Online
If you'd like to make your pledge online instead, click here to enter your pledge amount. Once you've completed your pledge, you'll be able to set up recurring giving online. Note: entering your pledge does not automatically change your online giving amount for 2025. Contact Erik at office@faithlc.org if you have questions.

Faithful Connections
Sundays
Faithful Connections is a time for caregivers--parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, etc.--to come together for intentional conversation about forming the faith of young ones today. Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Luther Room for discussion questions, guest speakers, prayer, resource sharing, and general support. It has been said that there are no such thing as "other people's children" and as followers of Jesus we are not meant to do life alone. This is an opportunity to take 45 minutes a week and connect with other adults. Click here for discussion sheets from past presentations.

How to Have Crucial Conversations
Sundays
Adult Faith Formation on Sunday mornings continues a series of sessions regarding crucial conversations around tough topics. As a church we confess that God is deeply involved in our lives and world, but figuring out how and what that means in relation to the specific issues and questions we face is often difficult. People in a faith community seem reluctant to talk together about such questions, especially if this will open up real differences among them. These sessions will serve as a guide that points out some important things to remember in leading faith-based conversations about social issues.
