Dear Pastoral Assistants of Faith Formation and Catechists,
First, we want to wish you a great 4th of July, remembering the independence of this nation. God created us with the gift of liberty and our faith respects both, the will and the freedom to accept the call of Jesus Christ to be missionary disciples. Happy Fourth of July!
Additionally, I want to remind you that we have come to the end of the Eucharistic Revival first phase that invited the archdioceses to center their attention in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. In the second phase, the Church invites all parishes to strengthen the celebration of the Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and to provide resources and formation to all parishioners in order to foster a love for the Eucharist.
Why nnow? BECAUSE THE CHURCH NEEDS HEALING. AND THE WORLD NEEDS THE CHURCH. The USCCB states: "Scandal, division, disease, doubt. The Church has withstood each of these throughout our very human history. But today we confront all of them, all at once. Our response in this moment is pivotal. In the midst of these roaring waves, Jesus is present, reminding us that he is more powerful than the storm. He desires to heal, renew, and unify the Church and the world.
How will he do it? By uniting us once again around the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is the joyful, expectant, grassroots response of the entire Catholic Church in the U.S. to this divine invitation."
We invite all of our Pastoral Assistants of Faith Formation, to make the center of their formation, a strong love for the Eucharist, promoting it among the parents, youth, and children we serve.
