July Places to Go & Things to Do!

As July begins we are reminded that the school year is not far behind. The Lake Wales Public Library offers opportunities for last minute day adventures for everyone.

The Florida Department of State Division of Library and Information Services and Florida State Parks have partnered to provide public library card holders a new opportunity this summer!

Use your library card to checkout a Real Florida Reader State Park Pass for day-use entry to any of Florida's 175 state parks, free of charge!

Some restrictions apply. Call 863-678-4004 or visit Real Florida Reader State Park Pass Library Program for details.

Bok Tower Gardens and the Lake Wales Library Association have partnered to create a unique program that allows library patrons to check out passes to Bok Tower Gardens for up to four adults and up to six children.

The Garden Lane Pass provides a one week gate pass to adult card holders, in good standing. Restrictions on some services apply.

For details on additional discounts, or restrictions that apply to the Garden Lane Pass call 863.678.4004 or email library@lakewalesfl.gov.

The City of Lake Wales and the Lake Wales Public Library will partner on Thursday, July 28, 10:30 a.m. to provide kids of all ages the opportunity to see the fleet of big, loud and cool vehicles used by our wonderful city staff. Touch A Truck will be held along Cypress Garden Lane and the City's park and trail located across from the Children's Library. Get up close to Fire Engines, Police Cars, Dump Trucks, Tractors, Utility equipment and more. Bring your camera and get some wonderful pics.

Summertime is a great time to discover what our community and state offer while crowds are not heavy.
