Building affordable homes in
Nez Perce and Asotin Counties since 1991
June 2022
Message from the ReStore
Greetings L-C Valley from the ReStore! We thank you for all of your donations while you engaged in spring cleaning. We have been doing some cleaning and organizing of our own. We opened up the top floor by removing shelves and adding more space for furniture. As always, we get new inventory daily and you can watch for tagged items that are discounted or weekly store specials. We also refreshed our painting inside and out of the store and set up a new dedicated cashier’s station.

New and coming soon:
  •   An online store – watch for later this summer. We will be offering unique and specialty items that will be available for a limited time only on the store site.
  •  driver@lewisclarkhabitat.org is back up and running with the drivers checking every morning. So if you have questions or need to schedule a pickup, you can call the store or shoot the drivers an email, and we will get you on the schedule
  •  ReStore Instagram coming soon! By the end of June we will have a dedicated ReStore Instagram. Watch our stories for inside looks at our ReStore, meet our staff and volunteers, and be eligible for giveaways.

We believe strongly in always changing and moving forward. Any changes we make are trying to benefit our community, our customers and our mission of ensuring that everyone has a decent place to live. So watch social media and stop on by to see what’s new at the Lewis-Clark Habitat for Humanity ReStore!

Women Build 2022 Kickoff
Corks for a Cause
Women Build launch event on June 2nd at Lindsay Creek Vineyards raised $15,000 toward our $25,000 goal!

Thanks to our Title Sponsor Zions Bank for their generous $10,000 donation, as well as our Corporate Sponsor, LCCU, for their $2,500 contribution to our build. We could not have made such great progress toward our overall fundraising goal without the help of members of our community who also contributed through purchasing 22 WB registrations and gifting 3 scholarships for individuals who want to participate in the Women Build day, but are unable to afford the registration fees.
During the evening we heard from individuals in the trades. Julee Moore, assistant professor of engineering at LCSC, and Howard Holland, welding and machine technology instructor at WWCC, shared information about their programs then introduced two female graduates of their programs. Mya Anderson graduated from LCSC's welding program. Carlie Schultz is a WWCC graduate in welding and technology. Their encouragement of women to not only try out various construction-related activities, but also to pursue careers in the trades brought a unique perspective to the event. Thank you all for joining us!

Meet Dennis Qunitanilla
New Construction Manager
Hello everyone! My name is Dennis Quintanilla and I am from Galveston Island, Texas. I am 38 years old and I have been in construction since the age of 16 when I first started framing houses.

I moved to Washington state in 2015 and fell in love with the land and the architecture. I currently have 5 children and am expecting Dennis JR to arrive August 5th.

I’ve always enjoyed helping people learn and grow in anyway I can. I’ve had struggles in my life, just as anyone else, but there has always been someone there to lend a hand. I would very much like to pay it forward.

I see this opportunity as the new construction manager as the perfect chance to give back to the community and share the skills and techniques I’ve learned over the years. I’m so excited to be part of the Habitat team and I really look forward to working along side each and every one of you as we strengthen our community together.

Thank you for your support
Thank you for your support of our organization with your $2000 Community Impact Grant.
We appreciate the generosity and support of our Brush with Kindness program through a $5000 grant.
This month I would like to focus on the LHS Habitat for Humanity Club that was recently founded as Elishia Trieber’s senior project. They recently stopped by the store to help with our refresh by painting the front entryway. It looks great!

Thank you to the club for painting and for the commitment to your community by being involved with our organization to promote our mission of ensuring everyone has a decent place to live.
