You're Invited to Participate in the Collin County Hazard Mitigation Public Input Meeting January 12
Collin County will hold a virtual public meeting to gather resident input to assist with updates to the Hazard Mitigation Plan for Collin County. The purpose of this public meeting is to provide a project overview to solicit feedback from residents. The goal of the Hazard Mitigation Plan is to minimize or eliminate the long-term risk to life and property from known hazards by identifying and implementing cost-effective mitigation actions. This public input will help the team to analyze potential hazards affecting residents and to recommend possible actions to reduce their impact. Hazards include flood, tornado, thunderstorm, wind, hail, drought, winter storm, lightning, extreme heat and more. If you would like to participate, please register prior to the meeting:

CWD Collection Delays
CWD is experiencing significant staffing shortages as a result of the pandemic. As we navigate through the current surge of COVID-19 cases in our community, Town staff and CWD are in constant communication to ensure your services are provided. At this time, Town of Prosper neighborhoods can expect pickup delays of 1-2 days. If you are disposing of bulk trash this week, please take advantage of our special bulk drop off location at 601 W. 5th Street. Hours will be extended this Saturday and will be open from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Residents who choose to take advantage of this service should be prepared to provide a Prosper Utility Bill proving residency.  CWD intends to be back on schedule by Sunday, January 9.
Recycle Your Christmas Tree Until January 14
January 14 is your last opportunity to drop off your live trees to be recycled. This year's drop-off location is the parking area on the south side of First St. west of the Central Fire Station. The unattended drop-off point will be open 24 hours a day and free of charge for the disposal of organic "real" Christmas trees. Please remove all lights, ornaments, decorations, tinsel, garland and any other non-organic material prior to drop-off. Frosted trees will not be accepted at this collection site.
