Dear Friends of The Blue Purl,
TBP's Inaugural 2022 March Madness Color Champion crowns

Marianated Scrumptious HT's The Blue Purl
WINNER!

MadelineTosh MTL Cardigan fell behind quickly on the first day of voting and continued to lose ground as the week progressed. On the other hand, down-to-business, methodical, blue-blood, Marianated Scrumptious HT's The Blue Purl sped ahead and never looked back by picking up votes left and right. In the end, it was a blow out victory.

In the post game interview, fighting off the swirling confetti, Marianated Scrumptious HT's The Blue Purl calmly yet ebulliently encouraged everyone to celebrate by making their own championship top.

Asked: "Are you going to Disney World?"
Answer: "Well, actually, I'm going to The Blue Purl to get my yarn to cast on." .)

News flash: Read on for details about our own NEW pattern by Kimberely McAlindin in Marianated Scrumptious HT's The Blue Purl.

Thanks to all for enthusiastically participating. Viva la Color Champion!

p.s. Congrats to April K., the lucky winner! Expect a call to claim your prize.

Monica's Azalea
BEFORE & AFTER… Monica's welcoming spring in her sunny Azalea, pattern by @elizabethsmithknits in Cascade 220. (Pattern written for sport weight) Simple crops are all the rage now and this is just the piece to ward off those chilly mornings while walking the puppy. What a perfect color, modern length and great photo. Easy to wear for spring layering, easy to modify length and ease alterations - make it your own. Super work, Monica!
In the News: Lost Knitting Songs
Hmmm knitting karaoke? Sing along? Anyone?
The Guardian recently published an article on Melanie Gall, a music historian/singer who found a trove of knitting ditties from WWI and WWII - mostly about women (many named Kitty) knitting to support the war effort in WWI & WWII! She's touring now in the UK with a cabaret set called a Stitch In Time.

A quote from The Guardian - "In one song, a badly knitted mitten is shot through a cannon at the Nazis and somehow ends up in the hands of Adolf Hitler, who finds it such a confusing and intimidating object he decides to stop fighting and surrender." (check out The Pretty Little Mitt That Kitty Knit in next link)

You want to listen to Melanie Gall perform these songs don't you!!!???- you can hear her sing them them on her website - scroll down to WWI and WWII Lost Knitting Songs when you get on the page. ENJOY!

Need to get her booked in to Rhinebeck Sheep & Wool Fest entertainment!
