A Message from the Superintendent

Hello, FVSD Families and Community,

The 2023-2024 school year is off to a great start. Our middle school and elementary teams launched the year with spirited kick-off and meet-n-greet events. The first three days of school were filled with new faces, experiences, learning, and fun.

We are most excited about welcoming so many new families to FVSD. When you are in and around campus, I encourage you to extend kindness to all those new to the area and to our District. We can all make others feel welcome! 

Please stay connected and informed this year. If you “follow” your FVSD school(s) on social media, not only will you learn of school activities and receive reminders, you’ll see, hear, and feel the positive energy. Thanks to everyone who came to our elementary school sites for Tuesday's 2023-2024 Meet & Greet events. It was wonderful meeting so many students and families! You can check out more photos from the day on our FVSD Facebook Page.

Research shows that missing 10 percent of school, or about 18 days in most school districts, negatively affects a student’s academic performance. That’s just two days a month, and known as chronic absence. Be present, it's good for you!

FVSD Board of Trustees met twice in the month of August. Highlights included celebrating the new leadership at both Masuda Middle School and Cox Elementary School.
