Santa's Sleigh Ride is Tomorrow!

Get ready for a town-wide adventure as the City and the Solana Beach Parks and Recreation Commission bring back Santa's Sleigh Ride tomorrow, December 15th! The excitement kicks off at 2:30 PM, with Santa, Fire, Sheriff, and Marine Safety personnel weaving through Solana Beach, spreading joy. Don't miss this community spectacle, starting and ending at the Solana Beach Fire Station, 500 Lomas Santa Fe Drive. If you're traveling this Holiday, consider signing up for a free Home Vacation Check. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department offers free home vacation checks year-round. Simply sign up for this free service and the Sheriff’s Department Senior Volunteer Patrol will keep a watchful eye on your home while you are away for the Holidays!

Citizen Commission Openings

Are you interested in making a positive impact in your community? The City is actively seeking volunteers for five vital citizen commissions—Budget & Finance, Climate Action, Parks & Recreation, Public Arts, and View Assessment. With 16 vacancies for two-year terms expiring in January 2026, now is your chance to make a difference. The deadline for submitting applications to the City Clerk’s Office is Tuesday, January 16, 2024, by 5:30 PM. Don't pass up this chance to contribute to your community!

City Hall Holiday Closure

In observance of the upcoming Holidays, City Hall and all non-essential City buildings will be closed from Monday, December 25, 20232 through Monday, January 1, 2024. Essential City services and emergency response will be available during this time.



Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Have a wonderful Holiday season and a happy new year!
