Update: 2020 Street Bond Projects

Bedford Euless Road Reconstruction
The contractor has begun constructing storm drain and water line improvements on the north side of the roadway between Booth Calloway Road and Strummer Drive. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction on the south side of the roadway. Access to Maple Street, Nevada Trail, and Eldorado Drive from Bedford Euless are closed during this phase of construction. Detour routes are in place throughout the neighborhood. Access to Colorado Boulevard and Strummer Drive from Bedford Euless remains open. Access to restaurants and other businesses on Bedford Euless will remain open throughout the project.

Glenview Drive Reconstruction
Atmos Energy has begun relocating and improving its utility infrastructure along Glenview Drive. This will include moving a 16” high-pressure gas line along with several smaller distribution lines. The City will be seeking construction bids this winter so that reconstruction of the roadway can begin as soon as Atmos' work is complete.

Residential Street Reconstruction
Pavement construction is expected to begin Nov. 7 on Diamond Loch West Courts (2 cul de sacs). Once completed, the contractor will move to Meadow Oak Drive, followed by Pearl Street and then Southampton Drive. Residents will receive a door hanger prior to any work beginning on their street. Every effort will be made to minimize impacts to residents during construction. Driveways will be temporarily inaccessible only while fresh asphalt is being poured and compacted in front of your driveway.

Visit the 2020 Street Bond Program page for more information about current and upcoming projects. Questions can be directed to Public Works at 817-427-6400.

Update: Preventive Street Maintenance Program
Asphalt overlays are being placed on 9 residential streets as part of the city's ongoing Preventive Street Maintenance Program. The projects include:

  • Cancun Drive (from Buenos Aires Drive to Trinidad Drive)
  • Dewsbury Street (from Glendale Drive to Chapman Road)
  • Hanging Cliff Place (from Windhaven Road to Ridgetop Drive)
  • Hillside Court (from Riviera Drive to the cul-de-sac)
  • Jamie Rene Lane (from Parkview to the drainage channel)
  • Moss Lane (from Rufe Snow to Crosstimbers Lane)
  • Onyx Drive South (from Billie Faye Drive to Bonzer Street)
  • Ridgetop Road (from Rufe Snow to Crosstimbers Lane)
  • Vance Road (from Manor Drive to Briley Drive)

Weather permitting, the work should be completed by Friday, Nov. 4, except for Onyx Drive South which is a more complex project that will take about 3 weeks to complete. The Onyx Drive South project is a joint project with Tarrant County Precinct 3, which reduces costs and allows the city to stretch street maintenance dollars further. The Preventive Street Maintenance Program helps to extend the life of our streets. You can learn more about the program on the city's website.
