We at ALL have a special treat this Summer of ’23. We have a two-part podcast summer series by one of our valued ALL members.

Dr. Anton Yereniuk, ALL Member, has shared with us his vast knowledge of his family’s homeland, Ukraine. In the first podcast, Anton gives us the history of Ukraine to Feb., 2022, the time of the recent Russian invasion. Anton weaves his family’s story through the history of the country.

Please listen to his parent’s story of how they were occupied and through luck and determination immigrated to Canada, via the help of Americans. As Anton still has immediate family in Ukraine his passion for his generational homeland is evident. 

In the next podcast, Anton gives the details of the war since Feb., 2022. He, also, talks of his family’s project that has brought over 60 families to safety from war torn Ukraine.

For several years now, Lawrence Brown has been offering photography seminars at ALL in addition to history, theology and politics.

We’re publishing a combined gallery online from his last two sessions of 2023. Students cover some basics: light and composition, plus tips on working with models and family members – especially grandchildren, and filming strangers while travelling. 

There was some discussion about using graphic apps to crop and sharpen photos, adjust light and color as well as eliminate unwanted elements from pictures. Everybody had a good time and their work speaks for itself.

Larry Brown will be teaching a course on "public speaking in world history" this fall. If there is interest, he’ll be happy to offer a photography course in the spring 2024 semester, two consecutive 6 -week classes.

ALL Annual 2022-2023 Meeting - May 17, 2023

-ALL held its 2022-2023 Annual Meeting at 10:30 a.m. in the Atrium of the Larusso Technology Building. ALL President Dianne Tattersall convened the meeting, followed by comments from ALL Vice President Paul Coteus, Reprts followed by ALL Treasurer Kurt Young and representatives from each of ALL's committees.

The audience (of ALL members) participated in the discussion of ALL long range plans, lead by Marilyn Nouri. Questions were asked and suggestions to increase ALL's visibility on Cape Cod and beyond were offered. The lively meeting adjourned by 1 p.m.
