once again I am in a bit of a time warp here at summer camp and getting Hot Finds out late. We passed our NCAP inspection yesterday and got the coveted flag for the dining hall. The program has been rocking and the Scouts are having fun.
Matthew Delk and I presented our Pop Up Scout Museum program last night and had almost twenty leaders and Scouts in the audience. My topic became sharing the stories of 4 different Scouts through their collections. One attended the 1929 World Jamboree, another was an early Air Scout. I also included the African American Eagle Scout from 1957 from Mobile Alabama and the vest of a long time Scout Executive.
I will post some pictures on Facebook of our event but I am really happy about the chance to share some of the memorabilia I own with Scouts and leaders. It's nice to have this stuff but if you only look at it once/year how much good is it doing in the world.
I have 304 live auctions despite the fact that I've been at camp for going on two weeks. Being able to schedule them out ahead of time is a wonderful tool.
Thanks for being patient as I attempt to stay in touch with the Hot Finds subscribers while still serving as camp director. I'll post as often as I can!
