July Artist of the Month:

Marcia Scroggs

Marcia and her family live in Alto, GA where she creates her whimsical folk pottery in her small pottery shed. Her creations are based on Southern identity and character, memory, and interpretation of a way of life. She adorns her pottery with animals of all shapes and sizes, people and more. Her playful pottery draws people to it and they smile and remember! Enjoy!

Staff Monthly Pick: Cynthia

Cynthia Smith is the owner of Genuine Georgia Artisan Marketplace. She purchased the store from the Greensboro Downtown Development Authority in 2005 and has grown the business to what it is today!

For this month, Cynthia has chosen to spotlight this beautiful ceramic colander by one of Genuine Georgia's new artists: Susan Margaritondo. This colander comes with a plate for draining, and like all of Susan's work, is microwave, oven, dishwasher and freezer safe.
